Pacific have just completed our most recent phase at the Mount Royal Hotel in Edinburgh. The new Eidyn restaurant is the centrepiece of the new public areas design created by Bell & Swift.

The new restaurant embraces its surroundings and heritage with stunning views across Princes St Gardens to the Castle and Old Town beyond. The design also celebrates the Capital’s literature, landscapes and history.
Scope of works included strip-out of the original restaurant, flooring, lighting, services installation and decoration. Central to the project was extensive bespoke joinery pieces including bar, banquette seating, tasting tables and ceiling rafts.

The project follows Pacific’s delivery of 158 refurbished guestrooms at the hotel in 2024 for Ascott Limited portfolio of hotels.

Pacific have recently handed over our latest hotel refurbishment contract. Working with new client, the Carlton collection and their professional team which includes Bellrock Leask Architects and RYE Design Studio Pacific delivered a comprehensive bedroom refurbishment of Carlton George Hotel in Glasgow City Centre.

The phased refurbishment of 63 bedrooms involved strip out of the existing rooms, new joinery items, complete re-decoration, new floor finishes, furniture, electrical installations and upgraded en-suite bathrooms.

Pacific have just commenced work on a new project for the Church of Scotland at Portobello and Joppa Parish Church in Edinburgh. Designed by Mill Architects, the works will be phased around the operations of the church and include construction of external ramps, installation of platform and stair lifts along with the installation of DDA accessible toilets. All phases will also incorporate decoration and services alterations as required.

Pacific have completed a major facelift of the British Airways Lounge at Glasgow Airport which was flooded after a ceiling leak.

The inundation forced the closure of the highly rated facility for a number of months from the end of 2025 into summer, 2026.

new addition to Edinburgh Airport’s food and beverage offering has just opened. Giraffe provides an extensive all-day menu, serving up beloved international cuisine, from Asian street food to classic American burgers. The restaurant is located in the departure lounge in the former Barburrito unit and provides 179 covers.

The project - designed by Harrison - involved the complete strip-out of the former Barburrito along with the neighbouring WH Smith bookshop. Giraffe was then fitted out in accordance with brand requirements. Scope of works included partitions and ceilings, flooring, MEP installation, bar front, kitchen, servery along with bespoke joinery items. This included ceiling rafts, bar and servery units. Several items were also refurbished and repurposed from existing restaurants such as planters and waiter stations.

Giraffe is part of our ongoing work with client TRGC which operates a range of leading food and beverage brands across travel hubs and the High Street.

This edition looks at our current and recently completed projects for both new and long-standing clients of the Pacific business. As always, the construction market has seen peaks and troughs over the last year, but there are definitely positive signs for the remainder of 2026.
