This is the time of year the garden starts calling again…

Longer nights, bit of sun (when we get it 😅), and suddenly you’re out there more than you have been all winter.

That usually means:
🌱 Watering the plants
🚗 Washing the car
🐾 Cleaning up after muddy paws
🪑 Giving the patio or garden furniture a freshen up

And that’s when an outdoor tap goes from “nice to have” to “how did I manage without this?”

No dragging hoses through the house, no buckets back and forward…just easy, direct access where you need it.

If it’s something you’ve thought about before but never got round to, now’s a good time to get it sorted and actually enjoy the garden properly this summer.

Been a lot of the same kind of jobs coming in lately. Taps needing replaced, toilets running constantly, and a fair few radiator issues from over winter.

It’s always the same this time of year. Once the heating goes off and things settle down, all the small issues start to stand out.

Most of them aren’t big jobs, just things that need sorted properly before they get worse.

If something in your house isn’t quite right, chances are it’s a quick fix now rather than a bigger one later.

I mean it when I say no job is too small! Just drop me a message and I’ll get it sorted.

Upcoming holiday notice ✈️

From 16-23rd May I’ll be swapping the tools for beers by the pool!

As always I’ll have my diary with me but messages will be responded too with a bit of a delay.

Funny thing is, most people don’t just have one plumbing job.

It’s usually:

* A tap that needs sorted
* A toilet that’s been playing up
* Something else they’ve been meaning to get checked

Once you start noticing one thing, you start noticing everything else.

A lot of plumbers prefer the big jobs…the full bathrooms, major installs, that kind of thing.

Truth is, most of my work is the smaller, everyday stuff.

Taps, toilets, leaks, radiators, appliances.

The things people use every day, and the things that become a pain when they stop working properly.

I don’t mind those jobs at all. They’re usually quick to sort, make an immediate difference, and save people a lot of hassle.

If it needs done, it needs done. It doesn’t matter if it’s a 30-minute job or a longer one. Just drop me a message and I’ll be happy to help.

If I’m not on the tools, I’m playing Aussie Rules 🏉

Heading off to Glasgow with the Kingdom Kangaroos ARFC today for the annual Ross McGhie Cup against the Greater Glasgow Giants.

We train on Wednesdays at the Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldyat 6:30pm if anyone’s looking for a new sport or hobby to enjoy. All welcome!

Taps don’t usually just “break” overnight…they wear out over time.

If you’ve got a tap that’s:

* Getting stiff
* Dripping more often
* Hard to fully turn off

…it’s usually down to worn internal parts.

A lot of people leave it until it gets properly annoying, but the earlier it’s sorted, the simpler it is.

Sometimes it’s a repair, sometimes it’s easier to replace, depends on the condition and the type of tap.

Either way, it’s one of those jobs that’s worth sorting sooner rather than later.

Now that we’re out of the cold weather, this is usually when people start noticing all the little things they ignored over winter.

🚰 Dripping tap that never quite got sorted.
🥶 Radiator that didn’t heat properly.
🚽 Toilet that’s been “a bit funny” for months.

Spring’s the perfect time to do a bit of a reset.

You’re not relying on your heating as much, you’ve got a bit more breathing space, and it’s easier to get things sorted before they turn into bigger jobs later in the year.

Most of the time, these are straightforward fixes, the kind of jobs that don’t take long but make a big difference day to day.
