Beautiful live edge walnut slab for the top and oak trapezium shaped legs. These legs are made from the same piece of oak that is split down the middle so each leg has very similar grain pattern.

-For Sale!-

This is my first coffee table completed!
Made from 2 solid reclaimed oak boards, I have designed and made this table, with half lap and dowel joinery on the legs, the dowels going through the half laps create a very strong and good looking joint. The table top has been joined together with buscuit joints and the of the cracks and knots have been filled with clear epoxy.
The table has been sanded up to 240 grit, wet the surface to raise grain then sanded back again before being finished with pure tung oil.

If you are interested in this coffee table please private message me, and as this is my first table it will come with 2 free coasters!

😁😁 Just bolted together my first coffee table!
I have used threaded inserts to attach the legs and the table top, this means that with a 10mm socket they can be separated and the table can be moved easier for the future owner... Is this you?

The palm router has taken a bit of a beasting this morning! This morning I have made a router sled to flatten a couple of chopping boards that warped a few months back. The router bit references off of the sled and cuts a parallel surface on the board to the sled taking the warp out out of the boards.

To finish sand I sand to 240 grit then water the surface to raise the grain before sanding again so the grain doesn't raise when finish is applied... It also give a sleek peak of what it will look like finished and makes it possible to see down into the epoxy 😍

Coffee table build-

Today I planned back the excess epoxy that I filled all the cracks and knots with and joined the three boards together, I have also cut and glued the half lap joinery for the legs to make to make two squares either end, I will then connect the two ends with the stretchers before finish sanding and assembly.

The first photo is a mock up of what the final piece will look like
Dimensions 70cm x 45cm x 45cm (31" x 18" x 18")

All glued up!

Cut rebates in the main carcass of the jewellery box to accept the oak shelf to create a top tray and glued that up, also glued up another panel of oak to make a drawer bottom and then cut it to size and cut and joined all the sides of the drawer together.

Just the mitred lid and compartment dividers to go before finish sanding.
