We recently completed a maintenance takeover of an existing commercial sliding gate system, carrying out a full gate safety inspection and risk assessment to ensure the installation met current UK safety standards.

During our assessment, we identified a reach-through hazard caused by the gate infill and the external fence line being positioned too close together. This created a potential safety risk where individuals could access moving parts of the automated gate.

⚠️ Recommended Safety Upgrade:
Installation of 358 security mesh along the entire gate run-back fence line to eliminate the reach-through hazard and bring the gate system closer to compliance with current automated gate safety guidelines.
