Found today at a new build property in Standish!

I could not believe my eyes when I found the sharp ends of these screws sticking into the inside of this window frame.

Imagine if you were cleaning and cut all your fingers because rightly, you wouldn’t expect the screws to be there. All because the window fitter was too lazy to use the correct screws for the job!

This is a very dangerous and lazy installation from this window fitter!

One of our biggest bug bears with new builds is pencil marks being left on doors and kitchen worktops.

This is generally due to trades being too lazy to remove the pencil marks after completing their work, but also the property not being properly cleaned or inspected before handover.

Found today at a new build property located in Standish.

Have you got a new dry stone wall which seems loose?

This dry stone wall has been very dangerously finished!

The majority of the large coping stones were very loose and not properly installed.
The wall is basically falling apart in places.

This property has just been bought by a family with small children who now cannot play on the drive way in case of one of these stones falling off!

This newel post was found to be 15mm out of plumb!

It’s not always easy to get everything perfect and straight. But this newel post is 10mm past the allowable tolerances set out by the NHBC.

Found at a new build property today in Cheltenham!

This double socket was found to be very loose and not properly screwed back to the wall.

With electric being so dangerous this could have easily turned into a very serious issue!

The reason for this issue is because the socket screws were left too long when the socket was being installed and damaged the fixings behind the socket. Leaving it very loose and easy to pull away from the wall.
