Shower Tray Waste. The customer hasn't used this shower in 7 years the waste was leaking. I have fitted new pipework, waste and redone the silicone. On the next visit I will try the shower valve to see if it works. Showers and taps do not do well when left for long periods of time without use so I expect it will need a new shower valve.

Triton Shower valve. The Triton high pressure and low pressure mixer valve have now been discontinued so parts are not available. A great shower to replace them is the Triton Kaho. Stone in the Stop C**k !!!
I fitted toilet valves to a toilet but later on in the day the customer rang to say the water pressure had gone down to a trickle. It was a bit puzzling but with inspection a stone had blocked the stop c**k. When the water companies do work this can happen. Sometimes grit gets into toilet valves. If work is being carried out in the area keep an eye on the water pressure to check it stays correct. Notify water company of any changes.

Italian Plumbing. We have just come back from an amazing Italian adventure. Pompeii plumbing was fascinating. The use of gravity and cisterns but the Romans also understood that water should not stay still if used for drinking water. The use of lead pipes. The interesting fact that the lead made the water sweeter so they used to put shavings in drinks not knowing it is toxic.
We found fresh drinking water fountains in every city in italy much needed in the heat.

Easy access lever valve stop tap. I fitted this lever valve above the original stop tap for ease of use. Interesting fact some old stop taps have built in one way valves so if pipe work allows a lever valve above is good option. The plumbing system is safe and the customer is happy.

Grohe pneumatic flush cistern. I find the push button a vague action on a pneumatic flush I much prefer a cable connection. This cistern was crammed in with a boiler on top zone valves beneath. Landlord Legionnaires Disease risk Assessment. I was asked to do a risk assessment at a property on inspection I found 2 dead legs behind boiler going into roof space of extension capped off 15mm pipes. The water does not flow through the pipes so the water can stagnate.
I have removed the dead legs and now the property passes the risk assessment.
