Story of this job.
These customers had a loft conversion fitted about 15 years ago. The builder at the time hadn’t done it to specs so building control never signed it off. This resulted in the builder not really finishing the job and running off the remaining bit of money.
Over years the customer had what I call a Death staircase fitted so they could at least use it as a bedroom for now. No plumbing or 2nd fix electrics finished.

About a year ago after doing a couple of jobs at their place I got the job of doing the loft conversion properly. We cut a few holes out the walls. Floors and ceiling so structural engineer could see if we could salvage any of it. Unfortunately it had to be completely taken back to the bare bones, basically back to a loft.
Once this was done we fitted a proper steel ring beam then built up from there with a proper fitted staircase. It being a slim 2 bed terraced house it was a massive challenge/logistical nightmare but we got there in the end!
Customer is so happy with the finish, just decorating then carpet to be done.

Even after the back breaking work of getting steels and other materials up and down stairs I do look forward to the next loft conversion I may take on! 😄

All ready for doors! Windows and skylight then internals will start, Unfortunately won’t be starting for a good few week...

Floor tiles got taken up carefully! Damaged floor board replaced then a layer of 6mm tile backer board fixed down.
New tiles then fitted! Leaking toilet cistern fixed and refitted along with the toilet!
