At AIS, we have a long history providing protective subsea products. For more than 20 years, this has ranged from wet insulation solutions to engineered covers, and from buoyancy to moulded products such as bend stiffeners and cable protection.

Our experience casting moulded products in PU together with applying wet insulation in global locations provides the perfect backdrop to support our latest offering to the industry. We now offer ContraTherm® B35 as a pre-moulded and wet applied insulation solution, which can be used at maximum operating temperatures up to 80 °C to provide a lower cost solution for subsea insulation.

With this industry recognised, pour-in-place solution, we are utilizing our extensive experience in AIS with moulded PU products and wet application services. Our state of the art, fully containerised pumping machine allows for easy delivery of all the required kit for application.

Using our highly qualified and experienced application teams, we can now offer this material globally. Our know-how in interfacing with many other parent materials, including those in the AIS Contratherm® range, also ensures we can use Contratherm® B35 in combination with other insulation material if required, offering customers a robust technical and commercial solution for their project.

We are delighted to announce that AIS has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Innovation Award at the EIC World Energy Supply Chain Awards 2026.

This nomination recognises the innovation behind NjordGuard, our advanced cable protection system for the offshore wind industry. This follows on from our King's Award success earlier this year, again for NjordGuard, in the Innovation category.

For over 20 years AIS have provided solutions to the Oil and Gas market for insulation of subsea infrastructure. Our ContraTherm® materials have provided excellent resistance to high temperatures (up to 204 °C) at very low water depths (up to 3000msw).

We are pleased to announce we now offer polyurethane insulation to meet the needs of lower temperature oil and gas fields, complementing our existing range of products. ContraTherm® B35 can be used at maximum operating temperatures of up to 80 °C to provide a lower cost solution.
