The team at FAB Roofing have been hard at work again this week, transforming a worn-out slate roof that was beginning to fail due to nail rot and a few questionable repairs from previous “roofers.”

We began by stripping away the old slates and battens. New eve support trays and a premium breathable under-tile membrane were then installed. Treated timber battens and GRP joining trays followed, ensuring durability and proper water drainage.

To complete the transformation, we laid red granulated Marley Ludlow roof tiles. Hip and ridge tiles were securely fixed in place using a modern dry fix system, offering both strength and a clean finish.

A pleasure working alongside on this lovely project!

Once the rafters were in place, we installed a premium breathable under-tile membrane, treated timber battens, and GRP valley trays. A three-layer high-performance torch-on felt system was laid to the gully detail and high-level flat roof.
Next up: Marley Modern roof tiles and integrated solar panels, all finished off with a dry-fix ridge and hip system and new lead flashings to the chimney.

A real team effort from all to hit the deadline resulting in a beautiful end product which will stand the test of time.

The team removed the failing rubber system and rotten decking from this bay window, replacing it with 18mm OSB timber decking. A two layer high performance torch on felt system was installed giving this leaky bay new long lasting protection from the elements.

This poorly installed velux window had been an on going issue for the customer. After removing the existing window new timber supports were installed to accommodate the new modern look Velux window. The failing under felt and old battens were replaced with premium breathable under tile membrane and treated timber battens. Opting to reuse the originals tiles kept the old rustic look of this roof. A lovely job that is guaranteed to keep the rain at bay whilst flooding the room with light and fresh air perfect for the coming summer months ☀️

The old tiles, battens and lead flashing were removed. After insulating the space, we installed a premium breathable membrane and treated battens giving durability and protection. Sleek Marley grey plain tiles and a new lead flashing completed the look leaving another delighted customer.

We laid treated timber battens and installed stylish Marley Modern roof tiles opting to use a dry valley and dry fix system for the hip and ridge tiles, ensuring durability and a sleek finish.
