BE CAREFUL!!!!!! This is NOT my work nor do I know the origins of it, it came across my screen on a plastering forum from someone who had the job to go to this poor persons house to redo this after they had gone with a cheap option. Now I know money at the moment is tight for a lot of people but when you are spending your hard earned money on your homes this is the last thing you want!!!! Sadly I think because of the current climate there are people out there who have bought a few tools and now pose as plasterers so they can “earn” extra money on the side.......... I’m sure it’s probably true for other trades too, unfortunately not everyone knows a good tradesmen from a bad one but all I can suggest is:
•vet the people you use
•try and get and go with recommendations from trusted friends and/or family, hopefully this way you’d have also seen their work beforehand •trust your gut instinct upon meeting them, if you don’t feel comfortable with them then don’t use them, you are not obliged. This last one also applies no matter their price, you have to be comfortable with who you let in your home and should never feel pressured by anyone. I’m not one for posts like these usually but if it helps one person avoid someone like this then I’m happy

This was a new one for me. Existing plaster inside was neither textured nor smooth it was just in between, not noticeably textured at more than 6ft away but obviously awful to look at less than 6ft. The customer had just bought the property (and it’s brand new!! 🤦🏼‍♂️) and they’ve immediately made alterations so I had to match into the existing. It went completely against the grain to leave plaster this way BUT the customer way happy with the end results
