A long project, but a beauty of one. These patio inset RGB lights took a lot of work to get right, but man do they look good. Like a disc war game from tron. profiles, tape, controllers and drivers - all remotely controlled. .brickwork installed the patio to laser level perfect, ensuring the profiles all look good.

A fun day today dodging the rain, installing some external speakers for the patio project in southfleet. The ground speakers are buried half way along the flowerbeds and provide a great addition of sound without standing out visually. @ Southfleet

Oh the wonders... this was a bit of a battle today, under this IP00 rated bin bag there was a tapped and twist connection - oh, and an ants nest, which when it’s residents were disturbed decided to crawl all over me and start biting away. The battle was fought and won, I prevailed over the army. What would we do without and @ New Barn

Well that was a satisfying consumer unit installation today. Progress on the project. My favourite job to carry out, probably one of the last MK boards I’ll get to fit - which is a shame. I’m tempted to try some hager boards, I see good things. Naughty plumber had some dodgy dodgy connections in the programmer, so I’ve sorted out with some bootlace ferrules - I had to reposition it anyway.

Well hurrah for being able to socially distance on this job! Another project started - this one is gone be rather special. Lots of lighting in this one, again hurrah! “Everything must be straight” Keeping 24v LV cables segregated from 240v as per regs too with a 50mm gap, drivers for the LED runs will be in accessible location. @ New Barn

Wiska and wago, what a combo. Zee Germans know how to make some quality electrical gear! 1.5 mm SWA install for some garden lighting, low level wiska boxes with interlinked banjo connectors with brass fixings on external glands.

Another day, another board change! When two become one, nice to get everything updated and onto one board, the previous RCD had developed some hypersensitivity, throwing up odd readings on the RCD tests at x1 and x5. So replacement was required. I had to extend ALOT of cables today via crimps, all worth it in the end. ⚡️

Fresh out the box, new hats - with the diagnosis last year of a touch of the ol’ skin cancer preparations for the summer are already underway, Ive also been told I need to wear SPF30 every day between April-October. A hat is just like any other tool I guess, useful when used right - and I’m a sucker for a bit of branding. Also, a handy way of keeping debris off of your noggin too!

“The good old days” ah... really? I’m so glad electrical safety has improved so much - amazing that for decades people used to live in this place without getting electrocuted or it burning down. Some absolute shockers in here - live exposed terminals, rubber cables, no earth in said cables, twisted junctions, you name it... safe to say preparations are underway for a full rewire! @ Istead Rise

Nice little wylex CU change today in Bexleyheath, also upgraded the tails to 25mm in preparation for UKPN to change the main fuse to 100A. It’s a satisfying job to get the cable sweeps on point. @ Bexleyheath, Bexley, United Kingdom

Today I’ve had the joy to Instal the superb camera/PIR light for the best clients. Why just have a security PIR when you can have a camera as well! Also some upgrades to the external lighting, as the walkway area on the drive was poorly lit before hand. @ Southfleet
