Keeping the heating ON… while rebuilding the entire plant room.

That’s exactly what we’ve just started in Westminster.

This isn’t just a quick upgrade, it’s a full plant room refurbishment, where we’re responsible for delivering the entire project from start to finish.

We’ll be installing a complete new plant room setup, including new boilers and calorifiers to supply heating and hot water to a residential block.

The scope covers:
✔ Full mechanical fit out
✔ Full electrical fit out
✔ Complete room refurbishment

And the biggest challenge?

Keeping all services live for the residents while the work is carried out.

Projects like this take careful planning, coordination, and precision — because there’s no room for downtime when people rely on these systems every day.

At a residential block in London, we were called in to investigate a commercial boiler that wasn’t performing as it should.

The issue? A failed split heat exchanger, something that can seriously impact performance, energy efficiency, and reliability if left unresolved.

Our team carried out a full heat exchanger replacement, restoring the system back to optimal operation and ensuring the boiler can now deliver consistent heating and hot water to the building.

It’s one of those components most people never see, but when it fails, you feel it.

Not all heating systems have to involve ripping out floors.

This project was part of a refurbishment, where we installed underfloor heating using an overboard UFH system on the existing solid floor. That means the property gets the benefits of modern underfloor heating without major structural work to the original floor.

Each pipe loop is carefully planned and spaced to ensure even heat distribution across the rooms, helping the system run efficiently once the final flooring is installed.

Underfloor heating isn’t just about comfort — it also helps create a cleaner space with no visible radiators and more usable wall space.

It’s always satisfying seeing the layout come together like this. Once the floors go down, everything disappears — but the comfort stays.

Not every upgrade is just about replacing equipment — sometimes it’s about transforming the entire system.

This project was completed at a primary school in Kent, where the plant room required a boiler and hot water system upgrade to improve efficiency and reliability.

The previous setup had served its time, but it lacked the performance and efficiency that modern buildings require. Our team installed a new high-efficiency boiler and hot water system, reorganised the pipework, and ensured everything was properly insulated, tested, and fully commissioned.

The result is a clean, organised plant room with a far more efficient system that will provide reliable heating and hot water for the school.

Projects like this are a great reminder that good engineering isn’t just about replacing equipment — it’s about building systems that will perform safely and efficiently for years to come.
