Hi to all our followers.
If anyone would like to help raise some much needed funds for this fantastic charity it would be much appreciated.
Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary
So BERYL 💔
Beryl has been up and down with virus’s since coming to us as a tiny kitten last week she had a flare up and I was planning on trying the new magic cure of eidd to try get her sorted once and for all but then she improved then dropped again then yesterday first thing message of foster mum Kate she has glassy eyes I think she needs a vet……
Bring on beryl trying to die on me numerous times yesterday!
Long story short when she arrived at the vets she was bloated fip had crossed my mind on route and that confirmed it so I said I have gs throw everything at her and do bloods I’ll go get meds!
Hour later the phonecall was not good! She was flat, badly dehydrated, her bloods horrendous, imha was and still is being questioned but the biggest fear she was yellow and highly anaemic with a pcv of 7! Without blood she was going to die! After talks our vets didn’t think she could be pulled back from the brink and my options were basically euthanasia 💔anyone that knows me knows I don’t give up easy! So I made calls blood was ordered and I went and collected her to drive 27 miles down the motorway to get her a blood transfusion that drive was horrendous! I thought I’d lost her twice on route and was being shaken by the van as problem still not solved!
I get her there with a gs dose onboard already and they’re all set up ready but then an accident delayed the blood 😢
It really was touch and go whether she could hold out that extra half hour 😢 thank god she did!
Fast scan and fluid tap confirmed fip, blood finally arrived so transfusion went ahead about 5pm for 4 hours we then had a long gruelling night awaiting for an update whether she had made it through the night!
The call came at 8.45am today that she was doing ok, eating with lots of encouragement and being support fed too her pcv was 20 after transfusion, her temp and glucose were normal again and she was able to sit up now!
Update tonight that pcv has dropped down to 15 but she’s much brighter and even ate a bit of food on her own!
Now I start the fight to get her fip under control and that hopefully fixes everything else!
We are so far about £3000 In and we have 82 days of fip meds ahead of us along with blood tests for her anaemia and fip plus a whole package of other meds! being a rescue she can’t be insured so off I go to fundraise again but if anyone can help towards her bill it would be very much appreciated it’s turned into an exhausting, scary expensive week and I’m shattered to say the least 😢
Pray for Beryl (and me pls!)
