Neal Ayers from Coastground Ltd, contacted AC Electrical to talk about installing an EV charging point for two new electric vehicles.

We met Neal on-site to discuss what they were looking for in an EV charger.

After surveying the existing electrical installation we were able to provide 3 different options and looked at the features and advantages of each EV charger. We recommended a Project EV EVA-22D-SE-W twin 22kW EV charger based on not only the quality of their product but also the simple installation and end-user experience that made it the right choice.

Dual Gun for 2 vehicles to charge simultaneously
Pro Earth removing the requirement to install a TT Earth.

This installation involved a 40-meter cable run, installed from the mains room distribution board on cable tray and fixed directly to the allocated EV car park spaces.

Our latest project with the wonderful folks at DSL saw a massive 50% reduction in their energy usage and running costs!

We carried out a site survey of the installation and looked at what was installed and what the LED equivalent would be.

To further increase energy and cost savings, we proposed to install occupancy sensors in all areas to allow the lights to operate only if they were occupied and if the natural light levels required it.

We were able to fully adjust the occupancy sensors to the natural light levels and time settings for each different area, ensuring lights were on only if required and for the minimum amount of time necessary before dimming down and turning off.

Their original installations just couldn't compare!

Our very own Timothy Hall was awarded 'Electrical Apprentice of the Year' 2022, by East Coast College.

We are so proud of Tim!

He joined us at the beginning of the year and has gone from strength to strength.

Tim has the enthusiasm to learn, asks relevant questions and carries out work as directed, both with us at AC Electrical and at East Coast College

He is a valued member of our team and we look forward to seeing him progress and complete his apprenticeship with AC Electrical.

The 'Electrical Apprentice of the Year' Award was given to Tim by East Coast College on the evening of Monday 4th July at Town Hall Great Yarmouth, Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

We were so happy to hear how highly East Coast College regard us here at AC Electrical, having had a fantastic connection with them and their students for many years.
