Introducing Eunice 🙌

Eunice has been part of the Burgh House family since 2024 and always brings a smile to anyone she meets. Before joining Burgh House, Eunice worked as a matron at a school in Zimbabwe and was responsible for dispensing medication on a daily basis.

Friendly, hardworking and always happy to help, Eunice is always a happy prescense within the home and loved by residents, families and her colleagues alike.

Thank you for all your hardwork and dedication as well as always bringing a smile to the home! 💙

🌿 Featured in the June edition of the Lothingland Village Voice! 🌿

We’re incredibly proud of our beautiful living wall here at Burgh House.

Created as part of our ongoing commitment to providing a pleasant and attractive environment for our residents, the living wall brings a splash of colour to our gardens while also supporting local wildlife, including pollinators such as bees and butterflies. 🐝🦋

Green spaces can have a positive impact on wellbeing, helping create a calm and relaxing atmosphere for residents, visitors and staff alike. The wall has quickly become a talking point around the home and adds another unique feature to our outdoor spaces.

A huge thank you to Russell and everyone else involved in bringing this fantastic project to life. 💚💙

We recently had a lovely afternoon out with some of our residents as we visited Cherry Lane Garden Centre 🌿☀️

Residents enjoyed browsing the garden centre, picking out some new bits for the garden, greenhouse and their rooms, before relaxing with refreshments in the café together.

Trips like these are always about more than just shopping… they are a chance to enjoy a change of scenery, spend quality time together and continue doing the everyday things that bring joy and independence 💙

Introducing Joanna 👋

Joanna recently celebrated 12 years at Burgh House and has become a hugely important part of the team over the years.

Starting out as a volunteer, Joanna has worked across many areas of the home including caring, cleaning, cooking and administration, giving her a fantastic understanding of day-to-day life at Burgh House and the people who make it so special.

Now our Secretary & Training Co-ordinator, Joanna plays a key role in helping ensure staff training and compliance are always kept up to date. Her hard work and dedication were recognised with a distinction in her Level 3 Business Administration qualification 👏

Friendly, hardworking and always willing to help, Joanna is a familiar face to residents, families and the wider team alike.

Music, memories and plenty of smiles this week at Burgh House 🎶

We were treated to a fantastic live music show, with residents playing and singing along, dancing and thoroughly enjoying every moment.

Thank you Cane The Bar for putting on a great show, we all loved it!

A lovely little surprise for everyone at Burgh House recently 🐐🐇

We were delighted to welcome some very special visitors from Evie’s Owls into the home... baby goats and rabbits!

There were plenty of smiles, cuddles and happy moments as residents enjoyed getting up close with these gentle animals. From stroking fluffy rabbits to meeting playful baby goats, it brought such a wonderful buzz around the home.

Experiences like this are about so much more than just a visit... they spark memories, create conversation, and bring joy to everyone involved.

A truly heartwarming day enjoyed by residents, staff and our adorable four-legged guests alike 💙

Days like these are often the simplest, but sometimes the best.

Our residents made the most of the beautiful weather this week, enjoying tea, biscuits and plenty of chats out in the garden.

At Burgh House, it’s not always about big occasions… sometimes it’s those peaceful sunny afternoons, shared smiles and familiar company that mean the most 💙

A real grafter and an important part of the team, Julia’s dedication helps keep Burgh House feeling welcoming, comfortable and running smoothly every single day.
