6 weeks ago this was a swimming pool. It's filled in now and the floor will be finished next week then we can start the first fix.

Following the lockdown boom on hot tub sales we are getting quite a few calls about melted plugs and sockets. Apart from Lazy Spa types hot tubs require a dedicated supply circuit correctly designed and rated for the substantial load, and should not be on a 13 amp plug. In many cases they have been incorrectly installed by the supplier's installer. Please contact us if you are in any doubt about your hot tub.

Today's testing job 🤣
This board in a commercial bakery is currently protected by a single RCD, meaning that a single fault will shut down the whole facility. This will be upgraded very soon to a modern RCBO board which prevents a fault on one circuit affecting the rest of the installation. Not a cheap job but neither is losing a night's production.

This is what we sparks call a su***de lead. We came across it this morning in a commercial setting and destroyed it to put it beyond use. Anyone running a business really needs to ensure that they only use competent electrical contractors. If this had caused a fatality, which it easily could have, there might well have been charges of manslaughter or corporate manslaughter.
