It’s the 20th June, and last night our colleague Jonathan Orland reached a milestone stage of completing the 300 mile cycling target he initially set to achieve in the entire month.

Because of everyone’s generous donations to East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity, Jono is going to step up the pace and aim for 500 miles before the end of June.

At the weekend he came across the EAAA team on a call, and they were kind enough to take his photo.

So far he has raised £420 sponsorship + Gift Aid and more is coming in daily, so thank you everyone.

If anyone would like to sponsor Jono for his new target of an extra 200 miles, there is still time, please follow the link

Jono sends thanks to you all for your support.

𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🎄
Thanks to our colleagues who voted for their charity of choice to receive a Christmas donation from the business in lieu of sending company cards.
The following charities won the vote, and each has received a £100 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 -

Cancer Research UK
Wolverhampton office voted for Cancer Research. Ashleigh Burton nominated this charity as “Cancer is a massive part of so many people’s lives. Everyone knows of someone who has/had cancer or has personally been affected by cancer themselves.1 in 2 people get cancer in their lifetime and those odds really are against us. Donating to Cancer Research allows us to support the fight in beating Cancer for good.”

Teenage Cancer Trust
Our Leeds team have chosen the Teenage Cancer Trust because they lost their colleague Emma to Cancer in 2019. The team and Emma’s friends and family raised £20k by walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks. The money raised was used for Emma to have specialist treatment in America. Emma’s husband Trevor has just walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks again to raise money for St James Hospital in Leeds, who looked after Emma during her illness.

Dogs Trust
The Design Centre voted for the Dog’s Trust charity, nominated by Nigel Garner who says … “I believe they carry out valuable work in supporting dogs who literally don’t have a voice. Their work to help dogs by rehoming and fostering them into new homes is invaluable - lobbying parliament to help end practices such as puppy smuggling and tackling irresponsible dog breeders and sellers. CADS donation will help the Dog’s Trust to fund long term research projects which will help improve the welfare of thousands of dogs annually.”

Yesterday, our amazing colleague, Kev Baldwin returned from his 4,000 mile cycle ride around the coast of mainland UK. It’s been four months since Kev’s departure from Ness point in Lowestoft and 33 years since he started his career journey at CADS. Kev popped into CADS head office in Great Yarmouth yesterday afternoon for a retirement send off complete with pizza, cake, and tales of the road, before heading off south on the final leg of his magnificent journey - back to Ness point where he was greeted by a large gathering of friends, family and well wishers.

The total amount of money raised for Cancer Research UK now stands at a fantastic £15,681.65, with donations still continuing to pour in. There’s still time to donate if you can, by heading over to Kev’s Compass 4 Cancer giving page at the link below. A massive thank you to everyone who has supported Kev on his travels and to those of you who have made a contribution to Kev’s charity fundraiser. Well done Kev, you're a real life superhero and a true inspiration! Happy retirement from all of us at CADS.

CADS very own Kevin Baldwin who is cycling around the coast of mainland UK in aid of Cancer Research UK, continues to make fantastic progress back towards his starting point in Lowestoft. While Kev ploughs on, CADS colleagues who have been cycling, running, walking, or swimming their way to their 4000 miles target set in April, can now begin to wind down their efforts as their challenge comes to an end.

Group one has been led by CADS' Head of Operations Clare Montgomery, with Group two being led by CADS' Testing Engineer Jonathon Orland. We've been saying it with every update, but a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has taken part in the challenge. Your efforts and donations have helped to get us even closer to raising the £1k needed in order for CADS to match with a further £1k donation.

Thanks to further donations from the CADS team, we now only need £255 to make it to the magic £1k needed for CADS to match fund - Almost there! Please keep donating via the link below if you can. :-) Remember, all funds from the CADS 4000 mile challenge will be added to Kev's total fundraising effort, currently standing at £13,215.50

And now, the totals for each group taking part in the CADS 4000-mile challenge for Compass 4 Cancer. Drum roll please....

The total distance covered by the two groups is a whopping 5,834 miles, smashing the 4000-mile target! Group two managed to clock up an impressive 2,685 miles, with group one finishing victorious on 3,149 miles. Well done to everyone and thanks for your superb efforts. Stay tuned for further updates on Kev's progress in the coming weeks!

CADS’ Kev Baldwin, who is cycling clockwise around the coast of mainland UK, is now on what must almost feel like the downhill section of his marathon two wheeled undertaking. As I’m sure you will have seen from our regular updates, Kev has been on the road since the beginning of May on his epic fundraising circumnavigation in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The fundraising total currently stands at £12,665.50 as Kev works his way along the North Eastern coast of Scotland, on Stage 49 of his marathon journey. Currently peddling through Stonehaven, Kev is hoping to complete his journey before the end of August. Please help us to spur him along by seeing if we can increase his fundraising total further! Please donate whatever you can by visiting:

https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/compass4cancer

It would also really help raise awareness of Kev’s efforts if we could share his story far and wide - please give this post a like and a share to help us spread the word and increase the fundraising total for this fantastic cause. Thank you!

Since our last update, CADS friend, colleague and cycling superhero, Kev Baldwin has made tremendous progress on his charity cycle ride around the UK mainland coast. Kev, who is riding to raise money for Cancer Research UK is now well on his way towards John o’Groats and visiting Dunnett Head, which marks the most Northerly point on his travels. This achievement marks a mentally pivotal moment on the trip for Kev, as he explains: “This morning was a big psychological turning point for me as I’m now heading East along the north coast for a couple of days then it’s south towards home. I always knew this would be the halfway point psychologically and not at half the distance.”

The donations continue to add up over on Kev’s fundraising page (link below) with the total now standing at £11,850.50. A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to this great cause. CADS colleagues are still doing their bit to support Kev’s efforts by clocking up the miles in our own fundraising challenge. Two teams of colleagues (group 1 and group 2) are taking part in various fitness activities such as cycling, running, walking, or swimming. If we can raise £1K, CADS will donate a further £1K to add to Kev's Cancer Research fundraising total. CADS’ Testing Engineer Jonathon Orland’s group 1 are still ahead of CADS’ Head of Operations, Clare Montgomery’s group 2. The mileage totals now stand at 2693 miles for group 1, with group 2 on 2459 miles.

If you’re taking part in the CADS fundraiser (or even if you’re not but still want to show your support to Kev), please get your family and friends involved by asking them to donate whatever they can to Kev's fundraising page (link below) and adding the word "CADS" in brackets when they make a donation, so we know it's in support of CADS team efforts. All money raised goes towards Kev's total.

It was operation "Keep cool" last week at CADS Great Yarmouth with the on site arrival of an ice cream van, courtesy of the super cool CADS management crew. The anticipation of a huge lunchtime whippy ice cream treat was enough to entice all the teams outside into the glorious summer sunshine for some ice cold indulgence!

If you’ve been following our weekly Compass4Cancer updates, you’ll know that we’ve been closely tracking the progress of our friend and colleague Kevin Baldwin as he cycles around the coast of mainland UK in aid of Cancer Research UK. This week sees Kev take a well-earned break from the saddle with a few rest days in the luxury of a camper van at Oban, Scotland. In Kev’s own words he’ll be “mostly sitting about eating, drinking and chatting”, and after his epic efforts to date, you really can’t argue with that!

As we write these updates on Kev’s progress, it’s easy for us to focus on the current section of his ride and forget the bigger picture. When we take a look at the absolutely enormous distance Kev has cycled since his journey began at the start of May, it seems incredible to us that he hasn’t taken more time to rest and re-energise than he has! Kev is making the journey seem effortless with his regular and cheery updates over on Instagram. So cheery in fact that it’s easy to forget that he’s undertaking something which most of us would find impossibly difficult even with our minds and bodies at 100% full fitness, let alone with a Cancer diagnosis. I’m sure we speak for everyone at CADS when we say Kev is a complete inspiration and truly encompasses the meaning of true grit and determination in the face of adversity.

A massive thank you to everyone who has taken the time to donate towards Kev’s £20K target. Kev is now up to £11,171.50 so we still have a way to go to reach the 20 grand total. Please keep spreading the word with family, friends and colleagues and please also share the fundraising link (below) with anyone and everyone.

Talking of the CADS fundraiser, CADS colleagues are once again doing their bit to support Kev’s efforts by clocking up the miles in our own fundraising challenge. Two teams of colleagues (group 1 and group 2) are taking part in various fitness activities such as cycling, running, walking, or swimming. If we can raise £1K, CADS will donate a further £1K to add to Kev's Cancer Research fundraising total.

This week has seen CADS’ Testing Engineer Jonathon Orland’s group 1 again increase their lead over Group 2 led by CADS’ Head of Operations, Clare Montgomery, to 178 miles. Group 1 are now on a total milage of 2434 with group 2 trailing on 2256.

Friday fact: According to Wikipedia, Ballantrae is a community in Carrick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The name probably comes from the Scottish Gaelic Baile na Tràgha, meaning the "town by the beach". It’s also a community where our colleague and intrepid cycling superhero, Kevin Baldwin passed through this week while on stage 33 of his epic quest to cycle clockwise around the coast of mainland UK.

Kev’s fundraising total is now at almost £11,000K and a massive Thank You to everyone who has donated so far. Please continue to share Kev’s progress to friends and family and let’s see if we can help to get closer to his £20K target!

CADS are once again doing their bit to support Kev’s efforts by clocking up the miles in our own fundraising challenge. As you may know by now, two teams of colleagues (group 1 and group 2) are taking part in various fitness activities such as cycling, running, walking, or swimming. If we can raise £1K, CADS will donate a further £1K to add to Kev's Cancer Research fundraising total.

This week has seen CADS’ Testing Engineer Jonathon Orland’s group 1 further increase their lead over Group 2 led by CADS’ Head of Operations, Clare Montgomery, to 76.4 miles. Group 1 are now on a total milage of 2199 with group 2 falling further behind on 2,122.6.

If you’re taking part in the CADS fundraiser, please get your family and friends involved by asking them to donate whatever they can to Kev's fundraising page (link below) and adding the word "CADS" in brackets when they make a donation, so we know it's in support of CADS team efforts. Happy Friday everyone! We hope your week has gone as well as the progress of our cycling colleague Kevin Baldwin’s. If you’ve been following our updates, you’ll know that Kev is currently cycling the coast of mainland UK to raise £20,000 for Cancer Research UK. After seeing the sights of Blackpool earlier in the week, today saw Kev enter Cumbria, his final county before hitting Scotland. After the soaring temperatures of earlier in the week, Kev reports “The weather is holding, and the temperature is much kinder to cyclists today.”

CADS colleagues are still continuing to do their bit to support Kev’s efforts by clocking up the miles in our own fundraising challenge. Two teams of colleagues (group 1 and group 2) are taking part in various fitness activities such as cycling, running, walking, or swimming. If we can raise £1K, CADS will donate a further £1K to add to Kev's Cancer Research fundraising total. CADS’ Testing Engineer Jonathon Orland’s group 1 have this week overtaken Group 2 led by CADS’ Head of Operations, Clare Montgomery, by 14 miles! This brings group one’s total milage to 1981 and group two’s milage to 1967. As always, well done and a massive thank you to both groups.

Our colleague and two wheeled cycling hero Kevin Baldwin continued on his mammoth charity bike ride this week by covering a huge amount of ground along the beautiful Welsh coast. Kev who was recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, is cycling around the coast of mainland UK to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Currently riding clockwise around Anglesey on stage 25 of his journey, Kev is keeping us all entertained with tales of the road, snaps of the scenery and even the odd song or two over on his Instagram page (link below). Here, Kev is pictured feeding some Alpacas while on an overnight stop in the depths of the Welsh countryside.

In support of Kev’s fundraising efforts, CADS’ colleagues are undertaking our own fundraising challenge with two teams of colleagues (group 1 and group 2) taking part in various fitness activities such as cycling, running, walking, or swimming. If we can raise £1K, CADS will donate a further £1K to add to Kev's Cancer Research fundraising total. This week has seen the gap between the two groups narrow to just 27 miles with CADS’ Testing Engineer Jonathon Orland’s group 1 on 1762 miles, and Group 2 led by CADS’ Head of Operations, Clare Montgomery on 1789 miles. Well done to both groups for continuing to clock up the miles in one of the hottest weeks of the year so far.
