A visit this morning to a property in Newport where the lady was quoted £12,000 for a re-roof, i roughly worked out the square meteridge when there and absolute tops would be £8,000.

Turns out after actually taking the time to look up in the loft that the problem is either the lead valley (potentially split lead or failed cement on the ridges, worst case scenario £2,000.

These absolute cowboys need to be stopped, the lady was petrified that her roof had failed when it hasn't, and even if it had to quote £12,000 (£4,000) over the top is disgusting.

With us a potential customer will always get honesty and certainly not ripped off.

Looked at a fibreglass flat roof for a lady in Griffithstown today, another company had gone out there previous and basically couldn't be bothered to even do a temp job for them to keep the water out, but a call to us and round there to take a look, a failed fibreglass roof that is only 9 ish years old, a temp fix to stem the ingress until something more permanent can be done for her.

Job on-going in Cwmbran, fascias, soffits and guttering complete, along with continuous dry verge system, just a chimney drop and dry ridge system to go.

I have a question, I've never come up against this before, a customer has a leak which potentially could be one of 3 or 4 things, some of them not within the roofing teade so after any advice so I can pass information on to my customer.

The fire boards on the gable/split level i believe are starting to fail or it may be a case of the joins need repairing, bit either way the soakers need replacing and I can't get them out as quite rightly they are underneath the board, my question is, can the board be cut into and patched or would the complete end have to be taken off and replaced

Repair in Griffithstown today, lead short so extended it, and added a saddle to make it all water tight for the customer.
