So today I gave my own Worcester Greenstar 30i ERP boiler its 5th year service. A 5th year Worcester service is a fair bit more in-depth than the previous 4 year intermediate services.
Following a successful gas tightness test I removed the boiler front cover and then removed the fan. I proceeded to open up the heat cell and remove the burner and baffle set. All components had a fair buildup of scale so a good clean was required.
The cell itself was brushed and then flushed through.
The condensate trap was then removed and cleaned.
Some of the components changed were the electrodes, the gasket and the bearing plate.
The expansion vessel was found to be at low pressure - so the boiler was drained down and the vessel recharged. On inspection I found the expansion vessel Schrader valve passing - so this was also changed out.
The magnetic filter was then cleaned.
The boiler was then fully commissioned, checking the flue gas composition in both high and low fire - all results were in spec. Also checked was the boiler operating pressure and gas rate 👍.
A negative pressure test was also completed following the service and this showed the that the boiler was running correctly (-7.69 mbar).
A further tightness test was then completed to test for any potential gas leak following maintenance. 👍
