To our Nibe 360p customers.

As we are now in those colder months of the calendar.

We understand the older generation of heat pumps including the Nibe 360p to struggle for efficiency when the outdoor temperature falls, especially in the larger properties. We find they operate to their best in very small 3 bed dwellings or smaller although there are many factors involved when advising customers as each house is different.
For dwellings (small 3 beds) or less we advise the use of spring autumn mode through the colder months, as when we are in this mode, energy will be provided without the use of the immersion heaters as that is the part that costs.
When we have sudden drops in the outdoor temperature, we may need to use those immersions and that is what the short video is about, it shows you the quickest way to get hot water back in the cylinder and then we can restore heat back to the radiators. As to how often the need for this boost is required will depend on these points.
House size: The use of winter mode may be required when we go into the larger properties, as following the instructions in the video on how to get the best when in spring/autumn mode, may get to bothersome for some.
Our advice to get the most out of your heat pump include these points.
Thermostat positioning: normally found in the hallway although some properties the temperature is controlled at the unit. Is the thermostat obstructed? Is it positioned correctly? Are radiators covered with clothes or radiator covers.
Annual services: a well maintained heat pump, set up correctly will give your heat pump a chance to be battle ready for those colder days.
Existing faults: is the refrigeration circuit working? Has the unit got sufficient airflow? When faults occur in these areas we effectively then only have an electric boiler and that’s when it costs.

Old units but with the right care, still have years left in them.
Here we have changed a compressor, we have also changed expansion valve and drier as we know these 2 components to suffer after a compressor goes wrong.
Now sounds no louder than your fridge/freezer and will create cheap energy for years to come.
No brazing took place in the property, when we can rule brazing inside your home,out! we will!
