Surveying tends to take you to some interesting places.

Our Guildford team recently visited The Thatch, Hastings, a distinctive historic property in a great coastal setting.

Adrian Sgattoni, Paul Pettifer and Oliver Fielder carried out a topographical survey to help support early plans for the site, including the possibility of lowering sections of ground to improve sea views, a new swimming pool and a clearer understanding of the plot boundaries, some of which had been hidden by foliage.

Good to see plans moving ahead to replace the Tumbling Bay footbridge in Guildford, which was washed away during flooding in 2019.

Technics carried out a 3D laser scan of the site at the time, helping to record the remaining structure and surrounding riverbank.

It’s good to see this local community link moving closer to being restored.

The bridge design at Millbrook weir will be a like-for-like replacement of the original.

John Macintyre and Andrew Pettifer attended GEO Business Show & DCW 2026 to explore the latest developments in geospatial technology, digital construction, and the wider built environment. It was a great opportunity to catch up with clients, partners and former colleagues.

The event gave us a great chance to see new technologies in action and explore ideas that could help us keep improving the way we work. The insights gained will support our ongoing focus on improving our services, embracing innovation and delivering better outcomes for our clients.

Thank you to the organisers, exhibitors and speakers for an insightful and engaging event.

Commercial property continues to evolve, and existing buildings have a major role to play.

As occupiers look for better-performing spaces and refurbishment activity grows, owners are increasingly focused on how to unlock more value from their assets.

For retrofit, redevelopment, refurbishment or change of use, accurate building data is a smart place to start.

Our RICS-compliant measured building surveys give property and construction teams the detail they need to plan with confidence.

Great to be at Guildford County School recently for their Careers Fair, where our team had the chance to showcase the surveying industry and talk to students about careers in geospatial and construction technology.

Paul Pettifer, Nat Collyer, Sai Krishna Ambati and George Hezzell attended with a Leica TS16 and RTC360, giving students a look at modern surveying and reality capture technology.

Thanks to Guildford County School for having us!
