A little break from the norm

Latest multi level challenge when your used to laying perfectly flat porcelain patios this was something completely different, challenging at times when the customer didn’t want steps where you normally would but the customers were over the moon with the finished product 😉
We’ve now opened our diary for April 2023 so get them quotes in early to get your project complete for next summer

Just a little post to show what we’ve been up to this year catching up on the backlog hence the no posts for a while but we are still here plodding along 😊 Still have some spaces for late autumn this year if anyone needs our services 👍🏼

Today we finally completed this wonderful project to give a lovely family’s 18 year old wheelchair using son his own little private space where he can enjoy a few drinks with his friends away from the prying eyes of mam and dad 👀 The build itself was constructed by North Yorkshire sheds based in charltons , Dave Towers who has yet again come up with the goods including bifold doors, indoor and outdoor lights and electric points and a stunning wood burning stove ensuring this room will be cosy all year round. Sleepers were used to level up the area and Tobermore charcoal textured paving ensuring a flat but grippy access from the house. Another great project to work on for a lovely family who appreciated the troubles caused by the current situation throughout.

‘Helping hand’

One of two patios we have had the pleasure to work on giving outdoor space with disabled access this year. Almare porcelain in a lovely blue/grey colour fitted high under the door sills after added damp proofing retained with latch sleepers including access ramp to the family’s lawned area.

Another level

It’s hard to see how steep the slope on this unusable garden was until you spot the newly erected 1m high retaining wall with the 5 ft close board fence replacing the old worn 6ft panelled fence that was there when we started.
Once the wall was up ample drainage and over 35 ton of backfill went into the lawn area to bring it up to a useable level. Patio finished in lunamare porcelain along with the new stepped access to the French doors, steps faced with wood effect porcelain to match the sleeper retainment separating the patio from the freshly turfed lawn.
This job was a pleasure to do for an old school friend giving him and his young family a usable area what will make memories for years to come, it was enjoyable to be doing something that wasn’t grey too 😂

“ Lord Locks Lockdown links”

Something a bit different here for the Armstrong team when a previous customer asked us to return and fit a “ little putting green” for the husbands birthday we just couldn’t say no! Designed from start to finish with the said husband there was no way this was going to be little 😉
Construction started with extensive land drain systems to ensure Tiger Lock can keep on the top of his game all year round. Edged with midnight blue limestone setts and accessed with vitripiazza anno range porcelain ensuring that Mrs Tiger Lock was happy it fitted in with the existing works we built at the property.Gravelled beds, colourful shrubbery and treated timber bunker finished off the construction side of this project before it was time to tackle the playing surface 😳 Massive thank you going out now to Ste Nixon and the gang at Lionlawns for coming in and working beside us fitting grass which wasn’t even supplied by themselves which is always a harder task but they got on with it and produced an excellent finish to what has been a truly challenging but rewarding project.
Thanks to Mr and Mrs Tiger Lock for continuing use of Armstrong paving and landscaping and we look forward to the next project ( honest Julie Lock)working on this stunning property in one of the beauty hotspots of the north east

Just like to thank all our customers new and old for their patience in this current climate, we’ve only really lost one project this year as we try to keep on track and keep our customers up to date with the staffing, logistical and timing problems we have struggled through whilst trying to continue to work through the ever changing situation that has been thrown at us as the weeks go by. We are still waiting to start projects for some customers that have been booked in since last year that should of been completed months ago and we push on every day to get things completed and onto the next one.

Our latest lockdown project all completed within social distancing rules on this tricky sloping new build plot. Vitripiazza Luna porcelain patio giving much needed light and colour to the rear of this property, with sleeper beds and steps replacing the horrible “ building regs required steps to nowhere” in the middle of the garden down to the turfed lawn.

Nice to get back on track and get something completed now merchants are back delivering, we thank all customers that are booked in for work this year for their patience as we strive to catch up without affecting the quality of your projects and hope to be with you all very soon

Morning all hope you are all safe and well. Due to the current situation we are still working on what we can in a safe manner for ourselves, our customers and all members of the public but running well behind schedule for 2020.
