Some time ago a gentleman crossed the road to where I was working and asked, could I look at his alcove as he wanted some extra storage. I called over and had a good discussion with him and his good lady, we discussed their ideas, and from those I put a sketch together for them. I was awarded the job, and some weeks later called and made the installation. I've attached the sketch, and an image of the work done. Its lovely people and jobs like this that still interest me now as much as they did when I first started. This will be my last post of the year as I am now stopping till January, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and an equally great New Year, thank you all for your support over the last year, and hope to see you all again in 2026 as its all of you that make it all worthwhile.

Recently completed wall hand rail, all paintwork masked up to protect the area from the dust. Full dust sheets covering the carpet. Very firm job for one of our elders or even someone struggling with mobility, all helps with balance and access to upper floors to make life easier.

Every now and then a really lovely job comes along, fairly complicated kite winder staircase, very long newel post through 4 steps. Hand rail catches the ceiling and then runs along to carry the spindles. All in Oak, and finished off with cupboard underneath. This will look fab once decorated. Ignore the midget in the photo.

Small Oak balustrade, just one flight, pretty straight forward really apart from the top newel post, this needed to be fitted in different stages due to it being on show on all sides. Bit of head scratching and engeneering and it's all in, plus a veneered side, all finished off with Osmo oil for a lovely finish..

One of my latest projects, a window seat in a little corner of a cottage, with a backing to some exposed stonework, lift up lid for extra storage, and three small shelves. Finished off with some Victorian moldings in the recessed panels. Total pleasure of a job from start to finish. :)

Interesting week, kit out a long cellar head, with some cupboards and shelves, so quite a bit of planning and thinking, but then came the, down stairs, up stairs, down stairs, up step ladder, down step ladder, get plank, walk on plank, walk back off plank, move plank, go down stairs, go up step ladder, and back down again, get plank, shuffle on plank, get up, walk back. Repeat loads and loads of times for a few days till jobs done, not to mention the things I dropped and had to move everything to get it, then put it all back again, repeat a few times. 😂Looks well now. Few pics to keep people entertained. 🙂
