Catt Construction Ltd James Catt Building Contractor was established in 2010. We are a small building company with big ambitions.

We started as a one-man team but as our reputation grows so does our work load and clientele. Now currently, we have a team of five and have built up a great working partnership with some of the best local sub-contractors to help us compete on a larger scale. We specialise in groundwork and brickwork and have built up a reputation of being one of the best groundwork and brickwork contractors in Su

ssex. With our outstanding high quality of work, and ability to manage our builds from start to finish, we are highly sought after. We are extremely proud to say that recommendations from previous clients are still our highest form of marketing, and we continue to receive calls every week just from word of mouth. Customer wanted to slightly change the window lay out and give the property a new look, so instead of trying to match bits in we decided to take the whole front down, given it’s a timber frame it was a fairly straight forward process.

I was lucky enough to have the customer trust in me to do what I wanted with the brickwork and
I wanted to give it a good Sussex feel. A walk around Alfriston gave me some inspiration for the brickwork and thankfully the customer was made up with the brickwork and finished look.
Lots of cutting and fairly time consuming but well worth it.
Throughly enjoyable build.

Single story Extension built in Hailsham,
This is probably the tightest we have built to boundaries and to make life a bit more difficult we had a main drain running through.
We had to remove two manholes and old Black Alkathene pipe, replace with new clay , all whilst keeping the owners and neighbours free to use the loo. Thankfully the customer and neighbours was fantastic and very understanding.
We used 20/20 interlocking tiles to achieve the low pitch. I think they look fantastic and a much better option than bigger interlocking tiles or different roof designs.
Although it was tight and a tricky build the customer has made use of every inch and has an amazing new extension and soon to be new kitchen, utility and dinning room.
We also installed a new boiler and opened up the back wall to create an open plan living space .
Customer is due to finish some internals, we are looking forward to seeing the finish.

Job completed in willingdon,
we have done lots of work on this property over the last few years, back garden , garage conversion, brick built porch and new driveway.
These customers are fantastic people to work for and it’s a shame for us there’s nothing left to do but hopefully they can now enjoy their home.

Good afternoon all.

I’d like to thank you all for following our page as James catt building contractor. As you can see we are in the long process of changing to a limited company. It’s been in our plans for a long time and something we have always hoped to do. I personally felt it was important for me to learn my trade as a bricklayer and build a good reputation as a trade first and foremost.
I’ve been very fortunate to work alongside many great companies as a subcontractor and they have been very inspirational to me and I hope we can replicate some of them.
Our main goal is and always has been to build a company built on principles and honesty not profit and we will continue to strive towards delivering this.

We would like to assure all of our previous customers that this changes nothing with regards to our projects under James catt. Any issues, questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me . It’s been a long process but it’s been a really enjoyable job.
Creating a one bedroom annexe on a property in polegate .
Not the most straightforward job.
Piled foundations, 80% over hand brickwork, tight to boundaries to utilise space as much as possible . Vaulted ceilings in lounge/dining room and to top it off all through a fairly tight gap between house and garage and just enough space to get deliveries in. Joys of these new builds .
We have to say a massive thank you to all the neighbours in this estate. Not one person moaned and super helpful when we had deliveries etc.
big thank you also to all that helped on this one. Massive team effort.
