πA decade of positive change not only at Roadways, but in the industry too was market by this increadable win!
Our director Victoria is winner of the Women in Highways category at the 2026 European Women in Construction & Engineering Awards.
In Viktorijaβs words:
βWhen we bought Roadways in 2016, I came into highways from outside the industry. I had an engineering degree, but not the traditional construction route. Since then, it has been a journey of learning, questioning, building teams, making mistakes, fixing them quickly, and delivering properly β always following our motto: Roadways the right way.β
The last few years have been busy, challenging and extremely rewarding: cold bitumen emulsion based asphalt on the Strategic Road Network, HBM, principal contractor work for National Highways, PDF2 surfacing schemes, an award-winning Southampton road recycling programme, and East Suss*x reactive maintenance with over 30,000 road defects delivered in less than 12 months in 2024.
But this award is not just about one person.
βThis award bears my name, but it belongs to the office and site teams, the plant operators, supervisors and operatives who execute our vision of longer-lasting and sustainable roads every single day β and keep our sites 3.5 years LTI-free.β
Viktorija could not attend the ceremony, so the award was collected by one of our young engineers and project managers.
βIt honestly feels like the best possible way to receive it. To me, developing young talent and seeing the next generation of female engineers take the spotlight under my name on that screen is the ultimate validation of Roadways culture and success.β
