This week after an EICR we replaced this rather untidy unsafe “modified” consumer unit with an up-to date 18th Edition RCBO/SPD one. Much safer and fully compliant with current regs

Another reason why a little bit of knowledge is dangerous, called to this property with customer reporting getting electric shocks off white goods, turns out previous home owner was a DIY Dave and left this property is a lethal condition, all the earths disconnected at the back of a socket in dining room, tape around cables to join them, this is not just an electric shocks risk but also a fire hazard, immediate dangers taken care of and we have an EICR booked in for this customer on Thursday, unless fully confident and competent working with electrics then please leave it to the professionals, we can all sleep alot more confidently then.
