Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a quick update with you all.

After some time working down in Southampton, I’ve now relocated back up to Halifax, West Yorkshire for family reasons. I want to say a big thank you to all my customers in Southampton for your support over the past few years – it’s been massively appreciated.

For my previous customers and anyone new in the Halifax area, I’m now back and taking on decorating work again locally. I’ll be continuing to share my work here, so if you’re looking for a reliable, tidy and experienced decorator, feel free to get in touch.

If you’ve worked with me before, I’d really appreciate any likes, shares or recommendations to help spread the word that I’m back!

Thanks again everyone,
Daniel

Here's a good example of not preparing surfaces properly when decorating. Prepare for a little moan 🙄😂.
I'm gonna be papering this wall (eventually). So the previous "decorator" has obviously skipped the prep, most evidently the mist coat on the plaster (hence the peeling paint)!!
Now if I was one of these smack it in and run types I'd have just shown up and thrown the paper up, got paid and not looked back. I see it a lot I really do. But I'm not!!
I know times are hard for a lot of people and budgets are different for everyone. Not everyone can afford to get a decorator in so they either end up attempting the work themselves (nothing wrong with that) or getting the guy in who tells you he'll smash it out for you in one day, no problem!! Anyone can paint, right!! 🤷🏻‍♂️. Well more often than not you'll end up with more problems further down the line. I see it so much now!! I'm all for people making a living but a lot of these people are not gonna turn up and put this level of effort and prep in.
There are some really good decorators out there. They're the ones that have put that time in and go that extra mile to make sure that you're getting the finish that you want.
So, if you're paying for professional decorating, ask questions along the way. How are you preparing it? How will you fix that issue? What do you recommend for the best finish? etc!! But understand that you have to pay the going rate for that knowledge and experience.
So here's to the guys and gals out there who are going that extra mile and putting that effort in 👍. We're all worth it 😜.

So we started on this staircase yesterday for a lovely new client in Redbridge. All the walls have been stripped and this is what we're working with!
There's gonna be a huge transformation on this one so watch out for updates! 😜

Little kitchen makeover done this week for returning clients in Fair Oak. Client went for a more subtle shade of green. Not a great deal of prep on this one as it was in good condition but ceiling, walls and woodwork were still given the works ready for the new colour.
Ready for a busy few weeks ahead. Get booked in for 2026. Space available from May. We cover both interior and exterior domestically and commercially.
Have a great week folks 🫡

A lovely review from a recently completed job for new clients in West End.
It's always nice to know that you've made someone happy when you've carried out work for them in their home. It reinforces that all that extra effort that you've put in prepping everything and making sure that the client knows about the steps that you're taking to give them the finish they desire is always worthwhile.
I am my own worst critic so it's always encouraging to get positive feedback from the people that matter.
Happy decorator 😁

New job started in West End today for new clients. The first of two bedrooms that are getting a makeover this week. Lots of preparation today. Going over old vinyl silk is never fun!! 😅. Taz has been using the flexi-fill on these large cracks. Looking forward to posting the finished look 🪄😁.

First job done after a much needed week off spent with family back in Yorkshire.
So here's a good example of not preparing your walls properly before painting!!
Had to take these bathroom walls right back down to the plaster to start the process again. The prep really is the most important part in any painting and decorating job. I've come across this many times over the years.
Walls were stripped back, all peeling paint removed. Peel Stop applied before filling out those bad areas. Primer/sealant was then applied before further filling.
Walls were finally finished in Victoria White mixed a Anti-Mould scrubbale matt.
Ceiling finished in a white Anti-Mould scrubbable matt.
Nice clean finish and a happy customer.
Always do the prep!! 😁🪄

A new job started today for a new client in Fair Oak. This lounge is getting a makeover. Plenty of prep needed to sort some big cracks out and some blown plaster. Check back in soon for the finished look 😁😎
