The HACS Group

15/10/2026

As work continues on our Big Airbase Build, we’d like to shine a spotlight on The HACS Group for their incredible support throughout this project.

HACS have been our construction partner for the build, helping to bring our vision for a new Northern Air Support Unit to life.

They’re also proud to be a Gold Sponsor of our Big Airbase Build, making a valuable contribution towards creating a new home for our lifesaving service - and their support doesn’t stop there!

Throughout September, HACS staff took on a Miles That Matter challenge, cycling 100 miles for 30 days to raise funds for YAA. Together, they’ve raised a fantastic £3,335 - and HACS are match funding the full amount, meaning their fundraising will have an even greater impact!

We’re incredibly grateful for their expertise, commitment and continued support. 💛

Throughout September, the HACS team took on an exciting challenge to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, committing to run, walk or cycle an incredible 100 miles every day!

With 25 team members taking part, we saw everything from daily dog walks and lunchtime strolls to impressive 18-mile runs and 50-mile bike rides. The challenge sparked some healthy competition, with the leaderboard becoming a regular hot topic of conversation!

Over the month our milage totalled 3740 miles, but most importantly, our collective efforts raised an amazing £6,670 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated and cheered us on throughout the month. Your enthusiasm and generosity helped keep us motivated, active and focused on supporting an incredible local charity that provides a vital service to our communities.

We’re incredibly proud of what the HACS team has achieved together. Thank you for helping us turn every mile into something meaningful 🧡🚁

Ahead of World Mental Health Day tomorrow, the Hacs Group has shared pork pies from Appleton's Butchers with all of our sites to encourage open communication and promote positive mental health across the business.

In an industry where stigma around mental health can still be a barrier to speaking out, it’s more important than ever to raise awareness, encourage open conversations and make mental health a priority.

Don’t put off grabbing a cuppa, pint or pork pie with friends this weekend and checking in, one conversation can make all the difference!

With handover at Yorkshire Air Ambulance only weeks away, the project has reached one of its most crucial stages.

Last week, Eddie Ashworth, Commercial Director at HACS, visited site and reflected on what it takes to bring a build of this significance to completion, with around thirty people and a wide range of trades working alongside one another on site each day. Keeping all of that in balance is a considerable challenge, and it is one the team takes real satisfaction in overseeing and delivering on.

It is also the most rewarding part of the process. After months, and in truth years, of planning and construction, the finishing touches are now coming into place and we look forward to handing this phase over to the Client so they can prepare to be fully operational later this year.

On Friday, we celebrated a major milestone as works officially got underway on the Studley Revealed project at Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey.

After eight years of planning and hard work to bring the project to life, we caught up with Dan Chaplin, National Trust Project Manager, to hear what this moment means to him and the team behind the project. We also spoke to Julian Smith MP for Skipton & Ripon, and Jeremy Dunford of Ripon Disability-Forum about what the project will mean for the local community.

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to bring you behind the scenes and share more milestones as the project takes shape

HACS Miles that Matter Challenge – Week 1 complete!

We’re one week into our fundraising challenge, and Team HACS has absolutely smashed the first 7 days! 🎉

Together, we’ve clocked up an incredible 721.7 miles, hitting our target of 100 miles per day. 👏

With everyone juggling work commitments during the week, our mileage naturally dipped on some weekdays — but the team came back strong at the weekend and made sure we stayed on track!

22 HACS employees have already got involved, getting out there and contributing through walking, running and other activities. It’s fantastic to see so many people getting behind the challenge and supporting such a great cause.

See our Just Giving Page for updates & our weekly leader board of who's putting in the miles!

And while we’re proud of what we’ve achieved as a team, the real goal is to raise as much as possible for Yorkshire Air Ambulance ❤️

In celebration of please support Team HACS and help us reach our fundraising target, every donation makes a difference.

Here’s to keeping the momentum going into Week 2 — let’s see how many more miles we can rack up!

Help The HACS Group raise money to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity

01/09/2026

Today marks the start of our HACS Miles That Matter Campaign — an internal team challenge to keep moving throughout September while raising vital funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Our aim is to raise £1 for every mile covered, with HACS matching the total amount raised at the end of the challenge.

September is also a significant month for our Big Airbase Build project, with the new Northern Air Support Unit nearing completion and handover due later this month. The new facility will help strengthen the critical care service provided by YAA and support Yorkshire’s future emergency needs.

We sincerely hope none of us ever need to call upon their services, but the reality is that any of us could. As a charity-funded operation, YAA relies on donations to continue this vital work.

Please consider supporting our challenge and donating here:

Follow our progress on the JustGiving page throughout September — and we’ll share how we get on!

We're delighted to have been awarded the £5.8 million project at Studley Royal, Fountains Abbey, to enhance visitor facilities while restoring historic views across this remarkable World Heritage landscape.

This project is especially meaningful to us. Not only is the site just eight miles from our head office and one of our most treasured local landmarks, but it also marks a return to where one of HACS' very first contracts took place over 42 years ago.

We're proud to be playing a part in preserving and enhancing this iconic destination for future generations. Learn more about the project here https://youtu.be/YaPXws2SyJk?si=V82fpAep5g9gJIax

Last week, we celebrated our Finance, Training, and Admin teams with an afternoon at the Ascot Ladies Day event hosted by Aldwark Manor Estate.

It was a fantastic opportunity to spend time together outside the office and visit a venue that has been part of many projects we’ve worked on over the years.

A great afternoon spent recognising the hard work and dedication of teams that play such an important role behind the scenes.
