Bid successful. We are pleased to announce the bid for funding to plant trees at bembrooke road through the Urban tree fund challenge has been accepted. There will be 41 fruit trees planted in the upper and lower fields either side of the play area, they will be planted to ensure no trees block the views from the houses on bembrooke rd. Three agricultural plots of land in the ancient town of Rye, all 3 plot for £20,000. Plot A8 and Plot A7 are each 20m wide x 32m long (20m river facing freshwater river Brede) with fishing and riparian rights. Each extends 3m into the river. Plot C3 is 20m wide x 24m long.

A nice little piece of land has become available in Hastings, that would be a great start for a land co-op, it is a freehold plot of approximately 50 ft x 28 ft with a guide price of £1000 plus auction/admin fee £1200. this is a very affordable option but we only have unitl July 8th when the aution is held online through these guys https://www.networkauctions.co.uk/online-auction-catalogues/?lid=140715&ClientID=24&src=36 does anyone have any experience of this type of auction is it dodgy or legit, I found it on rightmove!

We are in talks with network rail, councils and private landowners to create community run agricultural spaces on unused land, plots and verges.

I contacted network rail offering to use one of their verges to create a forest garden and they actually got back to me. They asked to suggest a location for the project, I have suggested an area south of ore station off broomsgrove rd (which is not ideal as north facing but a large area) I am now in contact with the Community Rail Manager. the attached image red star shows location of suggested area. this is obviously a diffent proposal to land ownership but a good one none the less. Does anyone have know of other suitable rail sites in the area? what is your opionion of this proposal?

progress report:
I have contacted, HBC, sea change, Network rail, another co-op in battle and a private land owner, no site has been found yet but I have a few leads. the council gave me a link to the map of their land and asked if I could identify any suitable sites I have put the link here, If any of you have spare time could you have a look and see if you can see any suitable spots, ive already found a few but nice to get many eyes on it. cheers.
