Here’s a porch and garage conversions 1st fix we completed for in eastdean….

Head over to their page to see the finished project, it’s blended in lovely with the existing property and balanced the house out from the front not to mention the clients have now gained an extra bedroom with en suite.

With the long weekend for most done and dusted we have been straight back to it today spread across multiple sites pushing on 👌

Our extension/ renovation project is pushing forwards in st Leonard’s. With the first lot of steels ordered and the machine back onsite for the oversight we will be making great progress this week. Once these have been carried out there will be no stopping this site with plenty of progress updates along the way.

The second picture is of a cut and pitch roof that has been completed today. There’s been a couple of set backs with this one but nothing we couldn’t deal with. Now that’s complete the customers are happy to crack on with their extension and we will put a post up tomorrow of our work there.

The third picture is from our carisbrooke road project, all the internal work has been completed for a while and valuations have been submitted by various local estate agents. With that now all taken care of by ourselves we have now turned our focus to the externals, starting with taking out the basement slab as it was breaching the damp proof course and had multiple cracks and breaks in it allowing water through. We’ve started the removal of this with the lowering of the levels. We will then re concrete with the correct falls to the water outlets, use a water proof slurry and render finishing off with a waterproof anti slip concrete paint.

And the fourth picture is of a garage reduction and timber frame lean to we will be completing on very soon. With the roof now covered with EPDM we have one more wall to clad and have a good clean up and we will then be completed. A post on this one for a repeat customer will be up very soon.

🪚 To make an omelette you have to crack a few eggs 🪚

That’s exactly what’s happening here….

Great start on our latest project in sunny st Leonard’s on sea.

Taking this 3 bedroom bungalow and turning it into a lovely 5 bedroom, spacious family home.

Consisting of 👇

:7x12m single storey extension.

:Full internal rip out and reconfigure the ground floor.

:Loft conversion to house the new master bedroom, en suite and walk in wardrobe.

:Full new plumbing system and full re wiring.

:The whole start to finish, Keys handed over on the start date and we will give them back a finished family home 👌

Almost finished with the strip out then the real work will begin so watch this space and we will keep you updated throughout the project.

Simple yet beautiful…

We completed this lovely second story extension on behalf of James Martin building and preservation.

We carried out:
- structural timber frame
-hand cut roof
-ply lined valley
-joists and flooring
-internal stud wall’s
-oak ceiling beams
-exterior render board

Once completed this great use of space blended in seamlessly to the existing property and the surrounding area. Whilst also creating x2 extra bedrooms and a 3rd bathroom.

I’ve heard people talking recently saying that extensions are just too expensive now!
We disagree with this for a couple of reasons:

Firstly if you do your due diligence and get the best contractor in place they will not only supply you with there best workmanship which will help avoid the horror stories you hear about but they will also work with you and provide accurate quotations to work within your budget.

And secondly if you’re doing an extension or a conversion to make it your forever home and let’s say it’s £100k so not worth it as the value only increase by £75k!

In our opinion that’s still going to be a fantastic investment because your going to massively improve your lifestyle, make your home life more comfortable and if it’s your family home your staying at for a good 10years plus then the shortfall will be made up over time with your capital appreciation 👌 that’s a win win 🥇

Why go through the hassle of moving to a bigger house that’s still not going to be exactly what you want (but you need the space) when you can create and design it to suit you and your family.

Hand cut roof on this extension project in Hastings.

Very simple roof become slightly more challenging as the contractor running the job instructed us to fit a timber ridge, when building control visited they wasn’t happy with that as the roof pitch was so shallow.

Out with the timber and in with a steel for them.

Traditionally built with mortise and tenon and fixed together with oak dowels.

Supplied in the kit:

Dowels and plugs.

Three options available:

Supply and install the above kit.

The weather wasn’t the best but we still crack on and get the job done.

Its been a little while since we last posted so over the next week we will be catching up with jobs from the last couple of months.

Roofer is In tomorrow and the plumber will be first fixing, then we can get back in and finish the flooring and get the cladding wrapped up. Will post up the completed project soon ⚒️
