Nightlight Electrical is based in Havant, Hampshire and founded in 2020 by Gary Bungay. I hold 10 years experience and up to date wiring regulations qualification. I also regularly carry out CPD (continuous professional development) to keep up to date with recent advancements in the Electrical field so you can be confident you will be getting the best solution for your needs. I believe in being as

approachable as possible and I am more than happy to explain in plain English any technical points of a job. I am registered with NAPIT as part of their Competent Persons Scheme which means I am annually assessed and able to carry out notification of domestic works under the Part P requirements.

That was the parting comment from the NAPIT inspector who came on site to assess our work, both on the tools and the back of house paperwork.

This is a yearly assessment which we continue to pass 🥳 But we're thrilled that our ethos of making things as pain free as possible for clients has managed to filter through to our yearly assessments too!

Just like people, not all buildings are the same.

This is a Grade II listed property. As such, alterations and building work need written consent from the relevant authorities.
It also needs more thought to go into alterations to keep the character of the property intact.

We've had the pleasure of working with the owners of this house, which they are lovingly restoring into a beautiful home.

So far we have undertaken;

💡 Replacement of old lights and alterations to some of the lighting scheme
🛀 Bathroom refurbishment
🍳 Installation of an extractor fan for the kitchen
🌡️ Update of heating controls
👩‍🔧 Fault find and rectification of the existing wiring

All whilst giving the building the attention and care it needs. Afterall, it's a part of our history!

Maintaining continuity of service is important for any business.

We recently attended a callout for a loss of hot water and a nasty fishy smell!

🐠 The culprit was the relay controlling one of the heating elements in the water tank
🐠 The smell was caused by the plastic base of the relay starting to heat up.
🐠 This had been caused by the relaying contacts failing due to it's age and use.

The age of the relay meant that not only was the unit obsolete but it's direct replacement was also obsolete!

⚡ To keep the client up and running, a temporary bypass to allow manual control was put in place.
⚡ As soon as the replacement relay and base had been sourced we returned to fit the new part and return the controls back to as they were.

On site and ready to get started on a new water treatment unit!

The tank to the right of the van will house/treat dirty water to the point where it becomes clean enough to be pumped out to a drainage field or soakaway.

To allow the tank to do it's job it needs an electrical supply (which is where we come in) for an air compressor and submersible pump.

We have carried out their EICR and the remedial work required to ensure their ongoing electrical safety and compliance needs.

All whilst keeping disruption to their trading to a minimum (no easy task when all of the power had to be switched off!).

It's funny the places you end up with business.

As someone that doesn't follow football and originally from near Southampton, the last place I would expect to be was pitch side at Fratton Park!

Last week was my first visit to one of the Network My Club events.
It was an excellent example of open networking in a unique venue.

Despite not being a football fan it was interesting to hear some information about some of the developments the team have made with the stadium and some of the challenges that they have had to overcome along the way.

Not to mention meeting some other great businesses!
