Well it’s Full Steam ahead at our Steamer Point project for MATA Construction.

Works are really progressing well on this scheme with works to Plot 1, Plot 2, Plot 9 & 10 now all up to slab level. RC Foundations are coming along nicely for Plots 3 & 8.

All main storm and foul drainage complete within the road with road forms installed to form the temporary kerb brace and tarmac due imminently.

Great quality work being produced and really good to be working with Martin & Mitch from MGT making the RC & Shuttering elements easy.

Been a little quiet on here lately but certainly haven’t been quiet across sites and in the office!

May saw us complete multiple types of projects across the business alongside the day to day setting out. Snapshot of a few below:

- Topographical Survey for new client: Rose Architectural Studio down in Portsmouth for a car park and adjoining roads.

- Topographical Survey for another new client: AR Banks completing a survey of an existing Southern Water Pump Station ahead of future works.

- As Built Survey for section of completed development down in Salisbury for valued client Dandara.

- PAS128 & Topographical Survey for valued client Taylor Wimpey at Waterlooville to help locate the position of a pot end along with other services.

- Night Traffic Management for BCT Groundworks to complete resurfacing works. For this scheme we completed all TM Plans and supplied 2way Traffic Lights and all associated TM to enable these works to be completed safely.

- Grid Lines & CL Holding Down Bolts set out across a slab on an amazing one off bespoke mansion at West Meon for returning client Finchatton. Feedback received from the site management and steel erectors was also nice to hear.

- Enabling works continuing for Colten Developments. We have been heavily involved with setting out early stages of drainage and multiple sections of sheet piled wall due to the steep level difference across the site.

- More Traffic Management Plans completed for BCT Groundworks for an upcoming foul connection across a busy section of highway.

No stopping us on a Bank Holiday Monday, up and at em!

First stop putting some Advanced Warning Signs out ahead of some night works next week which we have completed the TM Plans for and supplying the required TM.

Second stop out to Romsey to complete another monitoring visit on a section of road. We have been monitoring this section of road for any settlement since December 2023 as per an agreed schedule with our client.

🚨NEW CLIENT & PROJECT🚨.

We have recently started a project for new client MATA Construction down in Christchurch.

Not your standard housing site, this project consists 10 bespoke concrete frame plots that are right on the beach front of Steamer Point, Christchurch.

So far over the past weeks we have located and installed a robust control network, completed drawing reviews and flagged potential issues and missing information ahead of time. Completed setting out for the first foundations, got drainage under way and profiled the first section of road.

Foundations consist of RC Bases with starter bars for columns and walls. Good to be working with Martin and Mitch @ MGT on this one, makes this element of works easy for us and you know it’s right.

Looking forward to working on this project and seeing it progress. Be even better when the summer finally arrives and the wind hopefully dies down a little down there.

Another busy and varied week under the belt. For a four day week, it certainly hasn’t felt short!

We’ve had early morning visits down to Christchurch to set out foundations and CL of RC Columns & Walls. More to follow on this exciting project for a new client for us.

Over at Wimborne we have had a comprehensive Traffic Management set up including pedestrian crossings to enable us to complete S278 Gully cleaning and CCTV Survey. Whilst the TM was in place this also aided our client; NBS Demolition to complete elements of remedial works as required by Dorset Highways. For this project we completed all TM Plans, supply of TM & AWS, Drainage Tanker, CCTV Survey and As Built for all Gully locations.

New project commenced for Capital Homes at Park Gate. On this scheme we installed new GPS control, completed Topographical verification survey cross checks before returning and setting out CL foundations Plot 4 and access road.

For Dandara we are in the process of completing a large Topographical Survey. Forming part of this survey was checking and surveying existing foul and storm water manholes. Our trusty manhole lifter earning its keep once again making light work of the covers.

Another project for NBS at Petersfield where we were tasked with completing As Built of Gully positions, complete full clean and jetting of lines including CCTV & Report.

On Saturday we had a team play in Freddie’s Memorial Golf Day held at Hamptworth Golf Course along with sponsoring two holes for the second year. What a day! Great company and plenty of laughs between all the teams, weather was great, course in top condition and most importantly raising money for Naomi House and Jacks Place two great, amazing charities.

Yesterday saw us on a local project in Funtley which we have been working on closely with valued client BCT on various different elements of the project.

With the sun shining and beautiful blue skies, yesterday we completed a PAS128 GPR Survey ahead of the drainage connection from the new housing development.

For this element of works we completed the following:
- Traffic Management Plans ✅.
- Submission of all Licence Applications with Hampshire Highways ✅.
- Produce & Erect Advanced Warning Signs 1 week ahead of works on site ✅.
- H&S including RAMS ✅.
- Supply all elements of TM to enable for different phases to ensure works could be completed safely ✅.
- Complete site Utility Survey and mark out including Topographical Survey ✅.

A lot goes into the background of a job before you even start on site which not everybody sees or appreciates. Everything went like clockwork yesterday due to the “6Ps” Proper Planning Prevents P**s Poor Performance.

This week we have been down to Pagham for valued client Taylor Wimpey completing a Storm Water Drainage As Built Survey as part of their verification to Local Authority.

We attended site and located existing control. This was checked and transferred to survey locations. We surveyed all manhole cover positions, three swales and one ditch diversion.

Following this we returned with the trusty Manhole Lifter to lift the covers and take invert readings and condition photographs within the manholes.

Our survey clearly shows comparison between design position and levels compared to that installed.

I say it every time, but the manhole lifter really does make life easier. Obviously the reduction in manual handling is a massive positive but the time saved not having to clean out lifting eyes is huge.

🚨NEW CLIENT & PROJECT🚨.

We have recently undertaken a comprehensive Road Condition Survey & Report for new client Miller Homes on a new project at Aldershot.

We attended site and completed a full inspection and recorded all defects so that any pre existing damage is recorded before the construction phase commenced. All defects were marked, photographed using Time, Date & Georeferenced photographs and then each surveyed using GPS and overlaid onto a drawing.

This gives a clear and concise condition of the road along with all defects that can be referenced between the report and drawings.
