Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, the primary device I use to run my business has failed, and I'm currently locked out of my Apple account for up to seven days. As a result, my communication will be limited during this time, and I'll mainly be contactable on office days (Mondays and Fridays) until I'm able to regain access and reinstall the apps I rely on to manage the business while out on site.

I'd also like to let everyone know that I plan to take a short summer shutdown in around two weeks' time. Between now and then, I'll be working hard to complete as many outstanding jobs as possible before closing. The business will then reopen in mid-September.

Clock Woodburners Clock Blithfield 5kW with Brass fittings.

Thank God for the magic adjustable offset. This part has saved us a fair few times over the years now…!

The chimney pot was loose so we re-bedded it with cement with waterproofer additive and then treated it and the flaunching with Ronseal Water Seal the following day. We insulated the liner within the stack and chimney pot. Prior to dropping the liner the inglenook was swept spotlessly (I know because I sealed myself in there until it was!)
The closure plate was a decent size, so we insulated above it and even made it air tight, just because …
These extra steps really ‘don’t take much’ but then you look at the overall finish and it’s like …okay….

This work really does give your body an absolute hammering, but the satisfaction at the end almost takes the edge off the aches and pains 😅
Not to go on too much, but the customer really only sees half of the battering we often endure carrying out our line of work - if at all.
But again, it is totally worth it once the fire’s lit and we genuinely feel we couldn’t have done anything to make the job any better.

Another job done to an extremely high standard. Another job we can be extremely proud of.

Inglenook sweep 🧹

Here we have a beautiful Clock Woodburners Blithfield 8kW with Brass fittings, looking very much at home. We’re fitting a Blithfield 5kW with Brass fittings into a similar style fireplace next week and then we have a 5kW Compact to do in Saundersfoot the week after that.
Clock stoves offer such great build quality, a lot of stove for the money and the controllability over the burn rate is exceptional.
Those are just a couple of reasons why I am such a big proponent of the brand!

I really find it easy selling from the heart, making the right recommendation based on the clients needs including what is best suited to the property.

Thankfully I was able to pull a fellow experienced fire king out of early retirement to assist me on this one, hence the end result came out doubly perfect… My fellow pedant!

Nailed it 💪 or rather, screwed it - properly and repeatedly 😉
Even if we didn’t have a lighter between us and had to grind an offcut of metal with a disk cutter to catch the sparks in kitchen roll to then blow the embers to light it at the end. Ridiculous shenanigans 😂 If Ray Mears was a tradie caught unprepared, that’s how he would have done it I’m sure 😆
Adapt and overcome!
I’ll make sure I put a lighter on the van before the next job 😅
