The SIA is urging the Scottish government to reverse its position on wood burning stoves.

Having directly petitioned the Scottish parliament to protect the people of Scotland’s right to use a wood burning stove to heat their homes, our latest press release sets out the potentially devastating consequences the recent New Build Heat Standard and the proposed Heat in Buildings Bill will have on Scottish residents and the businesses in our sector.

A negative narrative is being unfairly manufactured around the wood-burning stove industry, by anti-woodburning groups such as and . Their campaigns repeatedly use misleading claims and statistics to scare the public. Read more about this in the link in our bio and please do share. It is important we get the truth out there!

Had the pleasure of working in Otterburn Castle Hotel today removed two large bricks and part of an old nest then camera checked the chimney to confirm it was totally clear.

Swept and reconditioned this little stove today with all new firebricks a new door rope seal and fire cemented the stove pipe again.The customer was over the moon and happy that it's safe and ready for the future.

Well I had a great weekend down in Warwick at the Guild trade show. Found it very useful and interesting and meet some really nice people it's a great industry I work in.

It's been a busy few months.. Here's a small sample of some of the more interesting jobs I've completed over this time it's been great tackling and cleaning lots of different appliances and looking forward to more challenges.. Out with old and in with new..Customer had an old metal chimney cap that had rusted through and let in bees..Surekill had came and powdered the nest so I was called in to recowl...I used a heavy duty plastic cap which wont rust also locally made in Northumberland this cowl vents the unused chimney so any dampness drys out and I also fitted a membrane as not to let in insects again.
