🏆 Façade Awards 2026 – Not long to go!

We’re looking forward to the RCI Façade Awards 2026, where our work on the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIOT) at the University of Salford has been shortlisted for Best New Build – Education Setting.

Delivered for Tilbury Douglas, the project is one we’re incredibly proud to have been involved with.

The building’s standout feature is its striking Greencoat steel shingle façade, with seven different colours installed on a 45-degree orientation to create the distinctive geometric design. Delivering the architect’s vision required meticulous setting out, careful sequencing and a real attention to detail from our team.

Alongside the façade, we also delivered the Bauder warm roof, biodiverse green roof and BioSolar mounting system, completing a high-performance envelope that combines architectural impact with long-term sustainability.

It’s fantastic to see the skill and workmanship that went into this project recognised by the industry, and we’re looking forward to joining the other finalists at the awards.

We’re pleased to announce the promotion of Sam Pittaway from Group Commercial Manager to Group Commercial Director.

Sam has played an important role within our Commercial team and his promotion reflects both his contribution to the business and the increased responsibility he has taken on across the Longworth Group.

In his new role as Group Commercial Director, Sam will continue to oversee our commercial operations across the Group, while also becoming an important part of the wider leadership team as we continue to develop and grow the business.

Another impressive view of the progress being made at Shrewsbury Hospital, where we are delivering the roofing, façade and louvre package for IHP – Integrated Health Projects by VINCI Building UK and Sir Robert McAlpine.

At roof level, our works continue across the extensive IKO Permatec hot melt inverted roofing system, alongside the blue and green roof areas being delivered by Eco Green Group. Longworth Louvres are also progressing the PPC aluminium louvre and plant screen elements around the rooftop plant areas.

There is still plenty happening across the scheme, but it’s rewarding to see the different elements of our package coming together as the building moves closer towards its finished form.

A fantastic effort from our site team and everyone involved in delivering this major healthcare development.

With the awards evening getting closer, we’re proud to once again celebrate The Peaks at Woodford Village, shortlisted in the Best Use of Hard Metal Roofs category at this year’s Pitched Roofing Awards.

It’s fantastic to see this project recognised alongside some of the very best work from across the roofing industry.

Delivered for Vistry Partnerships, with Brewster Bye Architects and Euramax, The Peaks is a project we’re incredibly proud of and a great showcase of the skill and craftsmanship of our team.

Another milestone for our team at Wigan Galleries, as we begin our roofing and cladding works on the new hotel for Galliford Try.

Our package on the hotel includes the IKO Permatec inverted roofing system alongside Euroclad Elite cladding, with works now getting underway as the building envelope begins to take shape.

At the same time, we remain on site completing the finishing touches to our works on the Market Hall, where we have delivered a combination of roofing and cladding systems as part of the wider redevelopment.

It’s rewarding to see our involvement progressing from one phase of the scheme into the next, and to continue working alongside Galliford Try on this major regeneration project in the heart of Wigan.

A big thank you to our project team and everyone involved as we move into this next stage. We look forward to sharing more progress from the hotel over the coming months.

Another of our projects is approaching completion, this time in Catterick, where we have been working alongside Willmott Dixon to deliver the roofing and cladding package.

A key feature of our works is the Euroclad Vieo standing seam system, installed across both the roof and façade areas. The dark finish and strong vertical lines provide a distinctive contrast against the traditional brickwork across the development.

Our package also includes an IKO Ultra Prevent felt roofing system to the link roof and PPC aluminium rainwater hoppers and downpipes across the whole scheme.

With the majority of our package now complete, it’s rewarding to see the different elements coming together and the finished appearance of the buildings taking shape.

This is another project delivered as part of our ongoing relationship with Willmott Dixon, and a big thank you goes to our site team and everyone involved for their continued hard work and collaboration.

Yesterday our Group SHEQ Director, Sarah Burke, and Group People Strategy Manager, Macaulay Astles, visited The Exchange in Croydon, where we are currently working for Urbanise Construction carrying out façade remediation works.

Sarah and Macaulay delivered dedicated Working at Height training and awareness sessions, reinforcing the importance of planning, awareness and safe working practices when working at height.

Importantly, the sessions weren't limited to our own operatives. Urbanise Construction and other subcontractors across the project also took part, bringing the wider site team together to focus on one of the most significant safety risks within our industry.

The feedback following the sessions was extremely positive, with Urbanise already discussing the possibility of Sarah and Macaulay delivering a similar session on other projects.

For us, that's a great example of what collaboration around health and safety should look like. If knowledge and experience can be shared beyond our own workforce and help improve awareness across the wider industry, that's something we're very happy to support.

A big thank you to Sarah and Macaulay for delivering the sessions, and to Urbanise Construction and everyone who took part for their engagement.

Safer sites come from everyone working together.

A fantastic view of the progress being made at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, with these latest aerial images showing just how far the development has come.

Working alongside IHP – Integrated Health Projects, the joint venture between VINCI Building UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, we are continuing to progress our roofing, façade and louvre package across this major healthcare development.

From the extensive roof areas through to the external façades and rooftop plant zones, the different elements of the building envelope are now coming together across the scheme, giving a real sense of the scale of what our team has been delivering.

There is still work to complete, but with large areas of the envelope now approaching their finished appearance, it's rewarding to see the progress made by our site team and the wider project team.

A huge amount of coordination and hard work has gone into reaching this stage, and we look forward to sharing more as the project continues towards completion.
