This week has been a very good one (today's weather aside 😅) for individual customers requesting personal deliveries. I have done supermarket shops, parcel collections, multiple trips to charity shops taking items for donation, and drop off of a bike wheel for repair at Blazing Saddles - Hebden Bridge ! 🚴‍♂️😁

When I first started doing this again (10 weeks ago now - that has flown by!) I was really encouraged by the amount of individuals that contacted me with enquiries asking whether I would be able to help them out with a variety of things. Other jobs I have done for personal customers have included shopping trips to Tod Market and B&M (send me a list and I'll pick up whatever you need for you), collections of bags of compost and sand from Calvag and Valley Fuels, and bread delivery from Saker Wholefood Bakery.

Sadly over the last few weeks there haven't been any new enquiries from personal customers (until yesterday's bike wheel delivery request which I was absolutely delighted by!); the deliveries that I have been very happy to do this week have been for regular customers who have been using the service since I brought it back. I have lost a couple of those that contacted me at the beginning also, and so I wanted to do a post to remind people that this is something else I do - it isn't just businesses that I work with! I am extremely keen to have more individuals use the service, to spread the word that it is something available to people, and to embed it within the community. I really want to help, and particularly for those who might not be able to go and get things for themselves.

So... please get in touch! And please help me spread the word! I am contemplating other ways of reaching people - maybe I need a website and/or some sort of booking system? Any suggestions welcome - please feel free to make them in the comments! 🧠🗣️💭

We offer everything from adult learn to ride sessions to showing riders how to control the traffic when riding on road, and can also offer 1-1 sessions with a qualified instructor to help you plan....

Delighted to be invited to take part in this amazing accessible cycling event at Todmorden Health Centre on Saturday 5th September! 🚴‍♂️😁

I will be there alongside friends Everybody's Cycling, Little Bikers, IOU Hostel, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden Makery, Cadence Cycleworks Todmorden, Living Streets, Lionesses of the Valley and Active Calderdale, promoting all things bikes and active travel in Calderdale, with a whole host of different bikes on show for you to have a look at, and have a go on should you wish! Come down and have a chat with us - I will be there with the cargo bike very eager to tell people about Cargodale, my plans for the business and how I might help you with your delivery needs! I will also be on hand to coach/supervise anyone that might like to have a little whizz round the carpark on the bike, and, if I can manage to source a child seat from somewhere, offer rides for the cargo bikers of the future piloted by yours truly! 🚴‍♂️😁 (If anyone happens to have a child seat for an eBullitt I could possibly borrow, please give me a shout! 🙏)

I will also be leading a short guided walk around Todmorden on the day, route to be confirmed but an easy 30-45 min stroll in the vicinity, largely along the canal towpath.

The event runs from 11am-3pm. Let's hope for some good weather and I hope to see you there! 🌞😎

💥 The grand total reveal... 💥

I'm absolutely delighted that the Cargodale 2.0 crowdfunder raised £2,228!! 🥳

Once again a massive thank you to everyone that donated. This money will enable me to carry on doing what I'm doing, to invest in the things I need to continue and to carry on with growing and developing the business. I will be sure to keep you all updated with developments and to show you exactly where your money is going - things are beginning to gather pace now and I'm really hopeful that I will be able to bring you more exciting news over the coming weeks. I'm so happy with the start I have made, the engagement I have been getting and the overwhelming support and well wishes I have received from our amazing local community right from the outset - thank you once again 🤗❤️

The crowdfunder will remain open for now and is still accepting donations - I'm sure it will be a relief to everyone (myself definitely included!) to know that I will no longer be promoting it but there are people who set up regular pledges - please do cancel these now if you would like the monthly donations to stop. I will leave the link in my bio.

I can't wait to repay the faith that has been put in me to make a success of this and to fully embed a bigger and better service into the community. I shall keep on climbing the mountain - keep watching this space to follow the journey!

So...

The crowdfunder is coming to an end!

At the time of writing there are 5 days left but this will drop down to 4 in a few hours time ⏳

It is currently at 36% of the target total achieved. This equates to £1,843 - a total I am absolutely delighted with already and for which I would like to once again say a HUGE thank you to the 47 lovely people that have donated so far. I am so, so grateful for your continued support.

Some more numbers... 📊

I have been running the service again now for 8 weeks.

136 deliveries have been made in that time.

43 post office runs.

54 veg boxes.

57kg of soap.

1,770 eggs.

7 transcountinental races.

11 local businesses signed up to the service.

5 (please let's get this figure up!) individuals using me for regular personal deliveries for supermarket shops, garden centre collections, bread delivery, prescription collections, parcel pick ups, and dog food delivery.

It's been a slog - I am working so hard at this, and most of that time and effort hasn't even been on the bike! I am absolutely loving doing it again though, it really is a joy providing this service for the local community, and I'm so proud and privileged to have you back it so that I can continue to try and grow and sustain the business. Thank you again!! 🤗🫶

So, now for the final push! (pun intended...) 🚵‍♂️

Every single donation however big or small will be a massive help towards me keeping this going. I'm sure people are beginning to tire (pun not intended) of me plugging it now and I am absolutely sick to death of doing it myself! I'm really looking forward to just cracking on with making this as successful as possible, getting more people on board and repaying the faith and generosity of the wonderful community that have backed the venture by providing you with the excellent service you all deserve.
