Here she is! After all those hours of hard work, CONSTANCE has been launched and has graced the waters surrounding Falmouth. Here's a video for you guys – we hope you enjoy it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlb2P5OC20w
Watch the well-attended launch in this video which is narrated by Simon Wisker, who commissioned this newly-built wooden boat.
In this video, Simon lays out the design of CONSTANCE, which he developed with Ben Harris and naval architect Jack Gifford. He discusses the features of the Falmouth quay punt CURLEW and deep-drafted working boats, which allow for a voluminous interior and sea-kindly characteristics.
Simon also explains getting involved and hands-on in building CONSTANCE and what it was like working alongside Ben Harris and his team.
Watch as CONSTANCE glides through the waters off Pendennis Point and the Carrick Roads in Falmouth, Cornwall.

With thanks to traditional boatbuilders Pete Paxton, Josh Neely, James Pardoe and Ventura Lago who worked alongside Ben at the workshop within Gweek Quay Boatyard. Thank you to naval architect Jack Gifford, and Andrew Cox Marine - responsible for marine engineering and electronics. Also, thanks to John Albrecht for CONSTANCE's traditional rigging.
Ben Harris & Co Wooden Boats use traditional boatbuilding techniques to build (new) sailing yachts and traditional boats, restore motor and sailing vessels, including smaller craft – dinghies and yacht tenders – as well as making masts and spars in their workshops.
