With the addition of the annual Accredited Site Audit Scheme partnered with CHAS accreditation as a condition of corporate membership, these standards are now monitored and policed to ensure consistently high standards and to provide corporate members with a mark of distinction and quality.

From September to November, the National Federation of Demolition Contractors and National Demolition Training Group are collaborating to deliver 60 free CCDO Demolition Labourer pathways for new entrants into the demolition industry.

At a time when the industry is struggling to find skilled labour, this campaign aims to encourage individuals to enter the sector by easing the financial burden on applicants looking to begin their career in demolition.

Applicants must have passed the required Operative Health, Safety & Environment touchscreen test with CITB or NOCN, and must be able to communicate, understand and read in English to be eligible. Additional requirements are available online.

August is National Wellness Month, when we continue to emphasise and raise awareness around the conversation of health and wellbeing within the demolition industry.

We’ve made strides in the built environment to de-stigmatise conversations on health and wellbeing, with many of us now feeling confident to speak to our employers on the issues we face, according to the BSI. However, we mustn’t let up – lead by example, share your experiences.
