Choosing the right team for your cooling tower survey makes a significant difference to what you get at the end of it.

At Franklin Hodge, our surveys are carried out by the qualified engineers who design and manufacture Carter Environmental cooling towers. We assess the full structure and internal components as well as offering flowrate and temperature logging. We follow every inspection with a detailed report and a clear set of recommendations.

If refurbishment or servicing is needed off the back of the survey, we can take that on too.

Specifying fire water storage for a space-restricted site is rarely straightforward.

The Firetainer® is a site-assembled rectangular fire water storage tank available in a wide range of shapes and virtually any length or width, up to a maximum height of 5.35m. Where structural columns or fixed obstructions are present, the membrane liner can be sleeved around them, so the tank works around the building rather than the other way around.

Fitting fire water storage into a residential or multi-occupancy building often means working around limited space, whether that's a loft, basement, or plant room.

Our LPCB approved Firetainer® tank, in a scaled-down version built specifically for residential sprinkler systems, is designed in accordance with BS 9251, Fire Sprinkler Systems for Domestic and Residential Occupancies.

This week, we completed our first helicoidal staircase project. The project involved close coordination across Sales, Design, the Drawing Office, Contracts, Production Engineering, Manufacturing and Installation.

The staircase system is designed to cover tanks from 3.82m to 21.39m in diameter and 3.63m to 14.43m high, giving us a configurable solution across most of our tank range.

A new addition to our tank access offering!

We have developed a helicoidal staircase solution that works across our full range of tank diameters. Each staircase is driven by a parametric design model that adapts the helix geometry to suit the tank diameter, height and access requirements, so the engineering is right and the installation is straightforward.

Daniel Mills took the design through to build, and Gavin Cotterrell produced the 3D animation you can see here, giving a clear picture of how it fits before anything reaches site.
