🏡 NEW-BUILD ANNEX | MEZZANINE LEVEL COMPLETED 🔨

Another project successfully completed by B.D. James Plastering, working on this impressive new-build annex.

The latest stage involved plastering the mezzanine first-floor level, incorporating a variety of detailed areas, numerous returns, angles and intricate junctions throughout.

This type of work requires careful preparation, precision and a keen eye for detail to achieve a consistent, high-quality finish. Particular attention was given to maintaining clean lines, sharp corners and neat transitions around the various features and changes in the layout. 👌

✨ The finished result: A smooth, professional finish throughout, providing an excellent foundation for the next stages of the build.

The mezzanine level is now complete, with the ground-floor layout scheduled to be ready in the New Year, when we’ll be returning to continue with the next phase of the project.

🏡 LIME PLASTERING & CELLAR RESTORATION

Another lime plastering project successfully completed by B.D. James Plastering.

This ground-floor cellar had suffered flood-water damage, so the existing wall finishes were stripped back following the successful drying of the affected areas.

Once the masonry was suitably dry and the surfaces were fully prepared, we installed a complete breathable plastering system using Limelight Renovating Plaster and Limelight High Impact Finishing Plaster.

The use of a suitable breathable lime-based system was particularly important for this type of property and environment. Lime plaster is designed to work sympathetically with traditional masonry, allowing moisture vapour to move through the structure rather than unnecessarily trapping moisture within the wall.

The combination of Limelight Renovating Plaster and High Impact Finishing Plaster has provided a strong, durable and breathable finish, while giving the cellar a clean and professionally finished appearance.

Particular attention was given to the preparation of the existing masonry and the application of each coat to ensure the finished system was properly bonded, even and consistent throughout.
