These spotlights are available with a variety of different colour bezels.

Converting to LED will save you typically 75% energy on a like for like Halogen, yet LED fittings tend to have a longer life span of up to 5x along with typically being brighter

Energy bills are rising!!!

Free advice - Read Below

With the average kWh costing 17.2p in 2020 the typical room with a 60w lamp in being on for 1hr a day for 365 days a year would cost the bill payer £3.77. Now change that lamp for the equivalent light output LED lamp (typically a 10w LED lamp), this 1 hr a day for 365 days a year costs the bill payer £0.63. Thats a £3.14 saving, not much over a year I know, but now let's say that your bedroom light is on for an hour per day, the kitchen light 2 hours per day, the hall way light for 5 hours a day, the lounge light for 5 hours a day. You are now saving £40.81 per year. This is just an example the reality may be more lights are on and for longer hours. A typical LED lamp has a life span of 30,000 hours so that living room light that is on 5 hrs a day, will last approximately 16 years. The first 2 years saving will cover the cost of your lamps and every year on is now money saved

Additional sockets added in to a clients summer house/home office as additional works post a full re-wire for them as part of a full property renovation.

Trunking was the cheapest option as it cut down time carrying out the works but as the sockets are within shelving, it will mostly be covered. However, even with this in mind, our aim was to keep it looking as discreet as possible.

The circuit was of ring type and these additional sockets were incorporated into the ring circuit rather than just spurring off a local point. This was achieved by disconnecting one leg out of a local socket and using approved crimps to extend to the first of the new points then carrying on in the ring circuit method. This means all sockets create equal load onto the circuit rather than potentially overloading a spurred leg.

The same was carried out with 2 additional sockets beneath the desk but all wiring was contained within the plasterboard wall, this was from a recommendation i made to them regarding the amount of electrical appliances plugged into extension leads (2 further extension leads up on the desk). We placed the 2 new sockets below as again it was the neatest and quickest option as the existing sat central between 2 wall studs.

Announcement!!

We have finally got round to arranging and ordering our first set of business cards.

We are also looking into expanding what we offer in the direction of smart homes so you can control the heating and lighting in individual rooms.

Independent room heating control Saves on wasting energy heating rooms you may not want heated at that time (for example a bedroom in the middle of the day. But you may want the living room or another area heated at that time). It will also allow heating control of different temperatures in different rooms.

This could expand with us further down the line with changing heating control to temperature control by means of the addition of varying cooling technology including natural ventilation of automated window opening and Air Conditioning.

So getting company logos and designs just right is a difficult task, we are looking at one last chamge that will see us into the foreseeable future, that stands out. We have this evening approached Herne Bay Embroidery to create a one off polo top so we can see how sizes and colours are working.

We at R.Carr Electrical Ltd hope that all our previous, current and future customers have managed to stay safe during the lock down.

As many of you may know as I can be a little chatty, we were isolating as best as we could as we were due a baby mid July. Our little lady has arrived (4weeks ago today) and mum and baby are well.

Due to this and the way the pandemic has taken shape, I would like to announce that we will be looking to start taking work on again.

As before, we are trying to stick to evenings and weekends as this is something we wanted to concentrate on by providing electrical work at a time that is more convenient for a customer without the extra cost that can be incurred by not being during "normal working hours".

We would also like to mention that if you have had work done by us. We would appreciate if you could leave us an honest review as this may help us do things differently if you have some constructive criticism or know to carry on the way we are if it's positive.

I felt a freshen up was required and used some spare time to re-design. We are still here to provide advice and estimates/quotes for all works but will not be able to carry out non-essential jobs at the present time, we will keep you updated as and when this changes
