First 3 points of the season. Wingate made it tough taking a two goal lead early on in the game. A first goal in eppleton colours for Jordan Fenwick and other goals from Ewan James and a Scott King pen sent us in to half time 3-3. Then the lads were bouyed by the return of captain Matty Weirs who came on and got 3 assists in 5 minutes. Two brilliant goals from Regan Bowman made it 5-3 and the scoring was then finished when 16 year old Olly Griffiths scored his first goal for the club, many more to come. Nice to gain 3 points after losing our first two games. The performances have been there just couldn’t get over the line. Plenty more to come from this young squad.
Kingy gains man of the match after a positive display in a defensive midfield role. Nice to have Kingy back and smiling. Top player.
