Despite the weather we pushed on and cleared the groundwork ready for the build. All systems go now. A bit of fencing management was needed too but nothing major.

JOB OPPORTUNITY: GENERAL LABOURER

Kev Wilson Builders Ltd is looking for a reliable, hardworking General Labourer to join our growing, award-winning team.

In this role, you will work directly alongside the Company Director across various domestic construction and building sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Materials Transport & Delivery: Collect, load, and deliver building supplies and equipment to active job sites in a timely manner.
- Site Maintenance & Cleanliness: Clear work areas of debris, assist with waste management, and ensure all sites remain clean, safe, and organised.
- Manual Handling & Support: Assist with heavy lifting, unloading materials, and supporting tradespeople on site.
- General Assistance: Provide direct support to the Company Director and site team with daily operational tasks.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Full UK Driving Licence (Essential for transport and delivery duties).
- Must be over the age of 25 to comply with our Fleet Insurance Policy.
- Physical fitness and ability to handle relatively heavy lifting.
- Punctual, dependable, and possesses a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow site safety guidelines.

Job Details & Benefits
- Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
- Employment Type: Employed or Self-Employed options considered.
- Location: Heysham / Lancaster and surrounding site locations.
- Access to ongoing training, supportive team environment, and competitive rates of pay.

There's a lot of conversation around encouraging the next generation into construction, but are we doing enough to show them the opportunities and earning potential that come with a career in the trade?

We're proud to be featured in Northern Housing, discussing the importance of building careers, developing skills and creating opportunities for the next generation. Which is a lot of the work we're doing at Kev Wilson Skills Academy

Having taken on three apprentices this year, we've seen first hand the difference the right training and support can make.

It's about more than learning a trade.

It's about building confidence, gaining experience and creating a career you enjoy.

We believe the construction industry has so much to offer young people, and we're passionate about playing our part in helping develop the skilled workforce of the future.

The next generation of builders is out there.

We need to make sure they can see the opportunities waiting for them.

Busy morning at George’s forget me not community garden , foundations excavated and last fence panel erected. Hoping to get concrete foundations poured this week then it’s time for the bricklayers. If you have spare Saturday or Sunday and wish to help lay some block please reach out. Big thanks to the fire service again for turning up and putting a shift in.
