We've been keeping an eye on the raft of unsuitable plugs and extension cables that have been coming into the UK for several years now. They present a very real fire safety danger to businesses. Following on from our post about rogue appliances and the extra training we are carrying out with our engineers to keep an eye out for them, here's more evidence from our news feed that this is a growing problem in the UK! Cheap online marketplaces are only making matters worse, becoming a regular source of illegal plugs.

We test every plug we find on site, whether it's attached to an appliance, or just a cable. Make sure you know what's being used on your premises (or in your home/letting property/care home!) by engaging a thorough PAT testing firm, and receiving a comprehensive list of appliances for your health & safety records. Your insurance company will thank you for it.
