The temporary roof scaffold is up at our Old Town, Swindon fire renovation project. We’re just waiting for it to be fully wrapped, and then we can start putting this one back together…

Following significant fire damage, this property is undergoing an extensive programme of reinstatement and renovation works, with Austen Dawson working on behalf of one of the leading claims management companies.

Once the scaffold is encapsulated and the building is protected from the elements, our team can begin the next phase, carefully stripping back the remaining damaged areas before starting the structural repairs, rebuilding and full reinstatement.

Projects like this require a very different approach to a normal renovation, with careful planning, coordination and attention to detail throughout.

Looking forward to seeing the transformation as this property starts to take shape again.

Works progressing well at our Coleshill project!

Great progress on site this week. The reclaimed brick retaining wall is really taking shape, it’s amazing how quickly reclaimed materials settle into their surroundings and look like they’ve always been there.

The new underground services are now mostly installed and we’re moving on to the next phase: natural stone retaining walls and steps that will define the levels across the side garden.

Still plenty to do, but it’s looking great, it’s projects like this that show why getting the external works right matters just as much as the build itself.

When the unexpected happens, speed matters.

Yesterday our team responded to an emergency make-safe following a house fire over the weekend. Working as part of our ongoing partnership with an insurance claims management partner, we were on site first thing Monday morning to secure the property and begin the first steps of the repair process.

Moments like this are a reminder of why we do what we do. Behind every job is a family dealing with one of the most stressful situations imaginable, and our role is to take some of that weight off their shoulders, act quickly and start the journey back to normal.

Our thoughts are with the homeowners, and we’re proud to be part of getting them back home as quickly as possible.

Quick site visit to our Coleshill project today and it was great to see the progress first-hand.

The new parking area is really starting to take shape, with the reclaimed brick retaining walls well underway and the new service trenches and installations progressing well.

Some of the Austen Dawson team swapped hard hats for shotguns at the Punchbowl yesterday for a brilliant clay pigeon day. Great location, beautiful scenery and a little bit of friendly competition made it a great day!
