Last weeks job seen us design, build and install a new inverter control panel to replace 2 faulty motors running off an existing star-delta starters in an old satchwell control panel. These were replaced using ABB inverter drives to control the new motors and the new control panel controlled the cooling fans on the motors.

Yesterdays Job was to re terminate 2 off 150mm 3/c SWA cables, 1 control cable and 95mm earth back into the a new chiller. Not much space for termination in the new chiller, (the designers never take into account cabling!) we had to fit an extension/spreader box for the cables. The old chiller was disconnected by others but they couldn’t connect it back up so got us in 💪
We actually installed/terminated the old cables to these chillers on site 19years ago in 2006 😲🫣 one of the first site jobs I worked on when I started here!

Two more floor standing PDC’s completed this week for the Telecoms industry. This pair are both rated at 800A 54V DC, and are single feed with upto 80 outgoing ways per panel Pos & Neg.
On these particular panels we fit a white protective film to help minimise any scuffs and scratches to the paint work during installation on site and transport.

Busbar Installation at Network Rail Polhill Substation

New 4000A 750V DC Negative Busbar system, designed and manufactured by A M Joynes for upgrades to existing Rectifier, being installed on site. 3 off 100x10 Tinned Copper Bars with take off plates for new 630mm/800mm Aluminium cables to track side rails to be installed. With GRP housing fitted around.
All built and assembled at our work shop then retro fitted on site.

It’s been a while since we last posted, and and we promised ourselves to post more this year. So 3 months late here’s our first (of hopefully many more) post!
Small control panel completed last week to control the long travel motors of an overhead gantry crane.
