It's been a productive day in the garden today💪🏻

After spending the holidays building I took the time to w**d the garden today. I've filled the compost bin and everything is looking lovely🌹

I've collected the cooking apples to freeze and there's still lots of pears and plums to harvest. Considering how dry this year has been the fruit trees have done really well🍏🍐🍒

I won't be in the garden for the next couple of weeks but when I get back I have lots of bulbs and seeds for the children to plant as well as some surprises for later in the term 🤫

After a marathon day the garden is finally clear of debris from the demolition work 🚧 It's amazing how much extra light is getting into the garden now, we'll make the most of it while we can 😀

The barn is clear and ready for the return of Forest School 🛖

I've had to prune the Damson Plum tree as there is so much fruit the branches were drooping over the footpath. I have saved the fruit on them as well as picking a bucket of pears. These will be prepared and added to the freezer stock for the children's cooking sessions 🥧

Shed number 2 is complete! 🔵😊

Between me building and the contractors demolishing the old year 6 classrooms, the garden was not a very peaceful place today 🚧 😂

I got fed up with all the demolition and building jobs so took a break to plant a Wisteria seedling. Hopefully this will grow over the arbour entrance to the rose garden 🌹

A bit of demolition today and the old greenhouse is down. This has made space for the second new shed which I will tackle next week.

Despite the incredibly dry weather the fruit trees are all doing well so we should have a decent harvest🍎🍐
We even have a few grapes 😀

Feeling a sense of accomplishment in the garden today 😀

The new sheds, bought with some of the Tesco grant, have been sat in the carpark for weeks. Today I finally got them down to the garden, cleared some space and started assembling the smallest one. As you can see it needs finishing but it's definite progress!

The garden was lovely and cool under the trees, well compared to everywhere else this morning! 🥴

After some maintenance jobs I picked the first of this year's fruit. The raspberries are having a very good year and the cherries are perfect. This fruit has been frozen for the children to use for cooking in school 🍒

If you can please leave shallow dishes of water out for birds and animals. This heat makes it difficult for wild creatures to find places to wash and drink 🐦🦔
