If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hundred times- “Some of the little’ns are the nicest” When a cabin is compact the design choices are all the more important- and a generous well positioned window above the desk is a good place to start. The little cedar cabin- all power’d up and WiFi,d up. Last couple of hrs of painting and tidying up site tomorrow. This was a last minute in-fill job, pre fabricated panels built in our studio in week 1 and then installed over 2 week on site. A joyful job, with wonderful clients who found us via our new website.

Progress this week on the little pre fab studio has been good. Roof is on, electrics all in, insulation and all boarded out- meaning we got on to some lovely cladding this afternoon. Each piece hand picked, hand fixed and hand cut- nice to slow down and use your eye for a change. . A ‘Facebook’ memory-from 14yrs ago- it was a painting job, inside and out. A lucky local carpenter had recently rebuilt this gorgeous little wagon, keeping as much characterful details as possible and replacing the rest with new. I remember this job well, it was a dream in-between job, I was just about to go off on an international tour with a theatre company from Ireland. The wagon was located in a beautiful semi wooded-semi wild area of a large garden and the weather was good (as in dry and around 21-25c as opposed to 31-35c!!!!) The tunes were on and life was good. Dream project in coming! An absolutely pristine 1950’s American Airtstream caravan- complete with all the original features and fitting, amazing details to restore and bring back to life. The outside/ structure is pristine- the inside is where the work is needed! Can’t wait to get started on this beauty.

Great to see Fred and Hannah again this morning and their studio in all its summer glory- amazing how well the planting has established, helping the building really settle in! The sedum roof up top doing just as well thanks to some well needed extra watering with this crazy heat. Air conditioning also doing its job inside- this may well be become an essential standard with these frequent heat waves! www.strangestudios.co.uk
