"Couldn’t recommend Kevin and his work enough. Had quite a custom wardrobe I wanted fitted in a bedroom and he more than delivered. Took extra care to be clean and tidy as well. Thanks Kevin!" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

And thank you, Jack, for you 5 star Google Review last week!

I really love what I do but even more so when the customer values the outcome too. This is a lovely wardrobe and I'm delighted that I was able to adapt it to fit the sloping ceiling in the room (as you can see from the photos Jack kindly shared of the finished job).

If you have a slightly awkward space, that's perhaps not being utilised properly, this is my superpower...!! Do get in touch.

The bedroom is the room most people tolerate rather than love...
A wardrobe that doesn't quite hold everything.
Drawers that stick.
A dressing table squeezed in because there was nowhere else for it.
The result is a room that never quite feels calm, which matters because it's the first and last room you see each day.

A properly designed fitted bedroom makes a remarkable difference:
🚪 Full-height fitted wardrobes reclaim the dead space above standard rail height, usually enough for a full season of clothing.
🪞 A built-in dressing table with proper lighting and storage replaces the compromise with something that actually works.
📦 Fitted drawer runs below hanging space mean shoes, folded clothes, and accessories all have a home.

🛏️ Under-bed drawers effectively add a chest of drawers without using any floor space.

The bedroom you have and the bedroom you could have are often not far apart. It starts with a conversation (with me!)

It continues to be a very warm month so far so this is a little advanced planning for you...

October is the month that most of usually flick the central heating back on, so it's one of the most important months for looking after the wood in your home.

Here's what I'd suggest checking (when the time finally comes!):
🌡️ Turn the heating up gradually. Sudden temperature spikes after a cool summer are one of the main causes of checking (small surface cracks) in solid wood panels.

💧 Consider a humidifier. Well-seasoned timber handles dry indoor air, but very low humidity over winter - especially in older homes - can cause movement in fitted joinery.

🪵 Inspect oiled or waxed surfaces. A feed coat of the right oil or wax now protects through the driest months. Don't skip it two years running.

🚪 Test every door and drawer. Seasonal sticking that appeared in summer often resolves in cooler months; persistent issues are worth addressing before they worsen.

🔍 Check painted joints for hairline cracking. Fill, prime, and touch up now while conditions are still reasonable for paint to cure properly.

Any questions about your fitted joinery? I'm always happy to advise. 🪵

🌿Today is World Mental Health Day and we want to mark it thoughtfully rather than commercially.

The relationship between our environment and our mental state is well established. Cluttered, disorganised spaces raise stress. Rooms that work - where things have a place, where the morning isn't a battle - have a measurable effect on how we feel.

I hear this from clients regularly. Not just "I love how it looks" but also "the whole house feels calmer."
A fitted wardrobe that actually holds everything.
A hallway that doesn't ambush you.
A study where you can close the door and actually think.

Take care of yourselves this weekend. And if your home is adding to the noise rather than reducing it, know that it doesn't have to. 🌿

This week is Back Care Awareness Week, a timely prompt for anyone who has been working from home on a setup that was meant to be temporary.
A kitchen chair at a dining table...
A laptop on a sofa...
A desk at the wrong height in a room with nowhere to put anything...

A well-designed fitted home office doesn't just look better, it's built around how you actually work. The right desk height. Monitor storage. Cable management that removes the tangle. Shelving at reach rather than underfoot.

Your back will thank you. So will your concentration.
If your home working setup has been making do, it might be time to do something properly. 💺

🌳 World Habitat Day - observed every first Monday of October - asks us to think about the places people live and what makes them work.
For most of us, "home" is about more than four walls.

It's about a space that functions around the life inside it, that has room for the things that matter, that doesn't fight you every morning, that makes the people who live in it feel settled.

Good joinery is one of the things that makes a house genuinely feel like a home. Not because it's decorative (though it often is) but because it solves the problems that friction creates: the clutter, the lack of storage, the room that was never quite thought through.

🏡 What makes your home feel like yours?

02/10/2026

🍂 October seems to have become the month of fresh starts: Stoptober, Sober October, new habits, new intentions.

There's something about the turn of the season that makes people look at their lives with fresh eyes. The summer is behind us. The year's fourth quarter is here.

For many of my clients, autumn is the moment a home project that's been on the list for a year or two finally gets the green light.
A study that actually works...
A hallway that doesn't create stress every morning...
A bedroom with storage that was designed for the way they actually live.

If there's a space in your home that needs a fresh start, October is a very good time to begin that conversation.
What would you change first? 🍂

29/09/2026

The shift from summer to autumn is one of the most revealing moments for home storage - suddenly you need the coats, the boots, the heavier bedding and there's nowhere obvious to put any of it.

A few principles that make the seasonal changeover genuinely smooth:

🧥 Hallway storage should work year-round. Deep coat hooks, boot storage and a shelf for bags means the hallway doesn't turn into a battleground every October.

🛏️ Ottoman beds and fitted under-bed drawers earn their keep twice yearly - summer duvets down, winter ones up, without the black bag in the corner of the bedroom.

📦 Dead space above wardrobes is usually wasted. A fitted run with high-level storage above brings that space into use without a ladder required.

🎁 Fitted utility rooms handle seasonal equipment (sports kit, camping gear, garden tools) without it migrating to the kitchen.

What's your seasonal storage problem? I might have a solution!

Tonight's Harvest Moon - the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox - has guided farmers through harvest for centuries, its light bright enough to work by after sunset.

There's a particular quality to September moonlight over the Hampshire downs and Surrey hills. If you're anywhere near a window tonight, it's worth a look.

The Harvest Moon marks the end of the growing season and the beginning of the indoor one. A natural moment to think about the spaces you'll be spending more time in over the coming months.

🌕 What does autumn at home look like for you?
(Thanks to Google Gemini for imaging my perfect autumnal scene!)

23/09/2026

🌜Today is the autumnal equinox - the moment the year tips into its quieter half. Equal hours of light and dark with the evenings noticeably drawing in.

There's something about this time of year that draws people inward. As we spend less time in our gardens, attention turns back inside the home - to whether the sitting room works, whether the study is fit for purpose, whether the hallway sets the right tone when you come through the door.
Autumn is the season for making the inside of your home as considered as the outside.

What room in your home comes into its own in autumn - and what room still needs some thought? 🍂
