Another reference from a satisfied client from a job from a while ago
I had an extensive project to complete that Lee originally designed and built out a small part of the works. Their task was todesign and build a boundary wall to the property, as they did an excellent quality job that I was impressed with so I asked themto undertake various other works, to design and build other components of work,: 1. take out structurally supporting walls tothe interior of the existing building to form an extensive communal lounge area. 2. To take down and re-build a bay windowedarea of existing build and re-build due to previous bad workmanship. 3. To take up and re-lay areas of pathing that had been incorrectlyinstalled. 4. To re-design and complete an external fish tank with decking above. 5. To complete all decking areas. 6. Toknock out and install new bi-fold doors to the new deckling area. 7. To take out tree roots and install a new fence to the rear ofthe property. 8. To design and build a log store. 9. To add to existing drive way to enable better access. 10. To render the wholeof the property using a thin coat render system. 11. Landscaping of the front garden. I am very happy with the finishedjobs and the property is looks amazing.
On the down side the works were carried out on a cost plus basis with costing’s sent every few weeks, It was difficult to do itany other way I suppose, as other add ons kept popping up due to the past poor workmanship from other contractors in thepast particularly with the front conservatory which all had to be redone right down to the foundations, and of course the costsgo up so fixed prices are better but someone had to cop for the add on’s, (it hadn’t even been insulated floor or roof, which Leesorted both, and now it’s toasty).
I think I liked the fact of Lees individual design capabilities of his vision and he helped us get the right layout for the main livingroom which I can only say looks spectacular, it comprised of removing from the living room a chimney running up through 2floors! (a big job, much bigger than i thought), but it opened up the room, so he designed the fireplace to sit at the end of arecessed area which he turned into a log store with lighting init. The Television was surrounded it’s in own sort of cinemahousing which looks great, again with surround mood lighting. The spot lighting was designed to pick up the features in therecessed area we put a mini grand piano which sets off that area. The fire chosen by my Wife procured and commissionedunder Lee’s watchful eye with a glass 180 degree view of the flames in the firre which lends itself for this room and sits right inthe middle of the room, even though it looks like it doesn’t, but it looks great.Anyway in reflection, not cheap, due to lots of surprises in the foundations etc... as mentioned, but Lee did a great job overall, and cured allot of past poor workmanship tasks as well, which many contractors would be running away from.
